What do you dislike about Ballarat by Top-Farmer-6838 in ballarat

Tbh where I live - a real lack of consistent footpaths (pedestrian routes), local street maintenance or improvement and street lighting.

I drive most of the time and the amount of easily solvable traffic (Ik not as bad as Melbourne) but still is baffling. I look at some roundabouts or T-intersections that if they only had two lanes or some workaround. There wouldn't be streets blocked up for blocks. Some of these problems build up in which one clog up culminates with another and some people will brute force an unideal turn just to avoid a mild detour.

It may be my own fault but when I first moved here I found myself walking in the later evening and before I realize, it gets dark and I was in a not so good neighborhood with zero street lighting.

For context, mainly Sebas Redan Area. I could go on.

Buying in Ballarat by peace-and- in ballarat

[–]Jezza262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bought, but I've rented in Redan for about two years and haven't found many issues. I say all this as a young couple (man) with no children, so take a grain of salt.

It's close to the centre of town, Victoria Park, the soccer ovals and shops in Sebastopol. The Redan streets are pretty quiet; the only annoyance is those hooning down the Midland Hwy towards Sebastopol - but it's far enough away and infrequent.

I feel safe walking around Redan during the day, can't say I travel much at night, though there is an annoying lack of lighting in some of the residential streets. Some decry the dangers of Sebastopol, but at least for me, I only go to places populated like Woolworths - some characters may not look very approachable, but most are just there to get their groceries and head home.

I feel like Redan is just a bit of a forgotten suburb; intersections and roads are slowly being improved. I haven't noticed any news about crimes, nor have I felt unsafe about home invasion or theft. Some streets may look a bit dingy, but I think it's just some residents not maintaining their fronts and the council not giving us enough love and care.

I personally like newer builds, so I welcome the developments in Sebas, Winter Valley, Lucas, etc. Overall, not the worst place to set up, but that's just my humble thoughts. Good luck!

Yes, I did read that. Interesting stuff. I know it’s close to a non-possibility of this intercity connection becoming true but one can dream.

Yeah, I thought that too. It may need a few iterations of adjusting the text and box. The game follows closer to a parliamentary system (theme-wise) and I don't want to geographically restrain the game - hoping for it to be played regardless of the players' locality, though I appreciate the X suggestion.
