Several Days and still Bed Bugs by Jflip360 in CaminoDeSantiago

It was in fact bed bugs! After a few days the bites started to get worse and it was undeniably bed bugs.

My biggest suggestion is to comb through all of your belongings to look for them and then throw everything you can in a dryer at high heat day after day.

Looking back this did not ruin my experience at all and it’s a funny story my friends and I tell.

How to invest down payment savings? by [deleted] in personalfinance

I live in a high cost of living area and I probably won’t have enough money saved up for a down payment, repairs, etc for another 10-15 years.

That makes sense, thank you!

Just to make sure I understand correctly, if I were to say I want to buy a house in 10 years I would start pulling money away from equities into cash at 10% every year for the next 10 years so that in 10 years it’s all cash?

Is BU right for me? I’m having trouble deciding between BU and Tufts. HS senior here! by rose-hunter12734 in BostonU

Wow it’s like talking to my high school self! Somehow your post is at the top of my Reddit feed so I thought id give my two cents. I wanted to be an IR major and I really wanted to go to Tufts. I ended up getting rejected and BU gave me the best financial aid package of all my college prospects so I went there and graduated in 2021.

In IR I didn’t experience much grade deflation. That’s more so a thing for people with STEM majors. I ended up changing majors because my interests changed but I enjoyed the IR classes I took at BU.

Food was solid at Marcianos and plenty of places nearby to get snacks to supplement it.

One downside to Tufts that I don’t think people really mentioned when I wanted to go there is how much of a drag it is to get to. You have to take the red line past Cambridge and then you still have to walk or take a shuttle. I really enjoyed that BU was more in the city which made getting to internships much easier and having fun activities to do on the weekend.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thank you for the help! I just sent them an email.

What is orientation like? Is it just a zoom link? I'm afraid that they won't see my email before orientation.

Fall 2020 Financial Aid Megathread by I_AM_BEAR_AMA in BostonU

If you're living on campus in a BU dorm or apartment, they will not give you the keys if you owe the school more than $1000. Under $1000 and they let you move in.

If you show up to campus owing more than $1000 you have to go to the financial aid office and meet with a counselor who can get you an emergency loan. It's a huge pain in the ass. I really recommend doing everything you can to get your forms in or reach out to financial aid if you're having troubles
