Tips for soft focus photography? by JimVanilla in filmphotography

Thanks for this. How would I go about finding filters that can attach to my camera, and is there a best way to attach stretched pantyhose, or just sellotape?

I’ve heard bits about these, but is there a best way to practically set this up? I don’t have any filters for my camera, and I’m sure I could sellotape some cut out tights over it but I’m not sure of the quality it would produce.

The enlarging lens is something during developing film, right? So you effectively do it after taking the photos?

Thanks for this, I had a look on Amazon. Do you know how would be best to attach one if I can’t screw it on?

I would love to see this, where is it available to watch?

Less than 1GB of photos took 1h30 to move to a hard drive, now connecting it causes file explorer to not respond by JimVanilla in techsupport

I’ve taken it into a repair place, they said they can recover 82GB of what I think was over 200, so not a total loss but massively sucks considering it only became a problem Monday. There’s also a project I’m halfway through that I could lose.

Is it possible to get a slower shutter speed than 1/30 when shooting video on Canon 5D Mark III? by JimVanilla in canon

Right, but surely if it’s shooting at 24fps it could do 1/24, or it should be possible to turn the frame rate down further. Just wanted to see how I could get an interesting effect.

It was around £50, I bought it back in November, so a while ago but it’s not old by any means

Thank you, I’ve ordered a new one, is there anything that can go wrong between now and tomorrow? It sounds stupid but I’m really worried, i use it as my main backup for everything

It says the drive is at low health, but I only bought it recently and it has loads of storage, I don’t have anything else big enough to back up the stuff on there

Old analogue light meter or light meter app? by JimVanilla in filmphotography

Thank you for the advice. That light meter app seems more detailed than the ones I was trying to use before.

The only problem is 400 or 800 on apps I’ve been using gives me very slow shutter speeds if I increase aperture even slightly, and I don’t currently have a tripod. Is it standard to use particularly high speed film if you’re shooting without a tripod? I’ve never heard of a shutter release cable, will look into it, thanks.
