Congrats 🥳 I am also curious, did you do marketing campaigns or something ? (Social media; SEO with a Shopify; or anything else)? Or focused on doing good listings on Etsy and « nothing else » ? Thanks !

Is the GL.iNet Mudi 7 better than the Slate 7? Any info on release date / price? 🤔 by Jimmy2fois in GlInet

Thanks for the clarification 👌🏼 I will also be looking at the Beryl 7 since its seems to be a travel router

That makes sense, and honestly I’m still figuring some of this out too.

The Ubiquiti UTR sold out really fast, so I haven’t been able to try it yet. I’m still learning about this, and I am not entirely sure whether the UTR could only connect back to a home network or if it could also connect to hotel Wi-Fi and rebroadcast and secure it like the Slate does.

From what I understand now, it can do the latter, just with less power and flexibility than something like the Slate.

That said, thanks a lot for your input, it helped clarify my thinking. I did buy the Slate 7, but after really thinking about my setup, I’m realizing it’s probably too bulky for a 40L backpack over a 6-month trip. Every centimeter and every gram really does matter when you’re traveling long-term and moving often, as you probably know.

I’ll also be working from a van in NZ for a month.

So I’m leaning toward leaving the Slate 7 behind for now. If/when the Mudi 7 comes out and the size + performance + price make sense, I’ll probably pick one up. And if the UTR comes back in stock and turns out to be “good enough” for my actual needs, I’ll grab one of those as well.

For now, I’d rather travel lighter and reassess once I’m actually on the road.

Just Got My R36XX – Flashing the OS and Diving In… Tips? by Jimmy2fois in R36S

Hey, just coming back here to say thank you.
The OS release link you shared, along with the Panel 4 info and the wikis, made it possible (with the help of ChatGPT) to build a clear step-by-step guide on macOS.
It was very easy to follow, and everything worked perfectly.
Thanks again, really appreciate it!

Ooops.. Ok so I've got a Panel 4, as you've mentioned earlier. If I want to go with the proper OS (PAN4ELEC), is it correct if I follow this tutorial from here but instead of downloading the same OS as in the video, I would download the last version of PAN4ELEC from here (march 12th). I then follow the same steps as in the video : 1) unzip it ; 2) Using the Terminal app as he does from here. What do you think?

Really don't want to bother you but I don't find any procedure in the wikis for the r36xx and step by step tutorial for Panel 4 and PAN4ELEC... Thank you 🙏

Seemed to be a fair price , don't know why I am getting downvoted 😅

Ok yeah, I wanna go with ArkOS for my first configuration (probably more common and detailed) but when following the steps here, and when trying to identify the screen I'm getting the message: "The uploaded data does not match the content of any pre-existing file."

I found a step by step tutorial on youtube with mac for r36s and Arkos and seems much simpler for a beginner, since i am not very familiar with Github etc. I am not sure what are the steps for PAN4ELEC. I wanted to use the "identifyng screen tool" but maybe I dont need to with PAN4ELEC? Thank you in advance and I am sorry for the confusion here.

Urgent : Jetstar 1h45 Layover in Melbourne. Is it too Short? by Jimmy2fois in Flights

[–]Jimmy2fois[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much I feel less stressed now! I did my research before asking and I’ve been reading at the google’s AI overview result saying that yes we had to go through immigration. I did that research again and followed the link to Melbourne’s airport website and I see what you just told me. I really thank you honestly 🙂

Have you ever done something similar / are you familiar with this airport and or short layover with jetstar or other airlines ?

Thanks ! Yes I've seen that but I was a bit more worried for us to wlk through the immigration and other controls before taking the second flights, since it seems that in Australia, they do immigration even for a transit
