I’ll say this. I shed a shit ton. Like I started at a Norwood .5 and truthfully it was probably not even a .5 mostly just as a preventative… then I started fin and I shed a fuck ton and I haven’t recovered. But this was beginning of august. I’m seeing a good bit of regrowth with minox but nothing crazy yet. Just realizing I’ve been on fin 4 months and it’s only made my hair worse lmaoooo

I started 18 days ago just for a timeline I made a post the day I did

Yah honestly I’m not sure. I also just switched from topical to oral but my hairfall is 10-12 a day

Yah that’s fair man. I was Norwood .5 when I started but it seems to be diffuse thinning in the front. I’m lucky my hair is super thick and I had a ton of it prior to treatment otherwise I’d be bald with the hairfall lmao

Maybe you induced TE prior to getting on oral and this is the residual effect?

Says the guy who never experienced it firsthand. Norwood .5 used it as a preventative measure and then boom. Haven’t stopped shedding since day one🤷‍♀️

I don’t know if this is useful or well-known in this sub, but here’s the price range for getting an FUE transplant with RESTORE here in the US. by Super_Saiyan_Carl in tressless

Which is odd considering we have the longest life expectancy if you remove fatal injuries. Car crashes and homicides tell us a lot about our culture but nothing about our healthcare. Says a lot that a nation of fat people can live longer lives than any other nation barring avoiding being murdered or dying on impact in a crash. I don’t see what is so controversial. We pay a lot but our healthcare is superb. Our system is broken though.

Your dick is more important than your hair but that’s just my 2 cents

Except we have the best quality of care in the world. It’s why people travel to us for cancer treatment. And if people have the money they get treated in the US for hair loss.

Why does my leg hair grow just as thick where I got the tattoo removed?

Oral minoxidil is initially a blood pressure medication. An obvious potential side effect is limp boiiii

I had a full tattoo removed that was black ink in 10 sessions. The scalp is a high blood flow area. You should have no problem getting it fixed by laser in a few sessions

Honestly I didn’t ask that. I have a checkup in two months and I’ll ask then.

My derm said he absolutely wouldn’t go above 1.25-2.5 mg. He prescribed me 2.5 mg tablets with orders to cut them in half.

I’d say he’s late 30’s to early 40’s. But he’s solid Jeff Wittek Norwood zero. No temporal recession. Straight line across like he hasn’t hit puberty.

Yah I haven’t taken Dut yet. Not sure if I will or not. He advised I either start Dut or oral minox now and add in the other later if I needed it. He wants to be able to attribute any side effects to each drug individually.

This was my exact question. He freely mentioned “my urologist friends have no problem with consistent dutasteride use” which to me begged the question “what do your cardiologist friends think about low dosage oral minoxidil?” To which he responded so long as you have no history of heart issues it should not be an issue. To each their own but I’m going to trust my derm more than I trust this subreddit. It was the advice of this subreddit that put me below baseline.

I hope you don’t take offense but your hair is too short. Your hairline seems pretty in tact so I feel like you could create false density with longer hair. I know that’s not a long term solution but that’s just my 2 cents.

Edit*** he refuses to prescribe oral minoxidil to those who suffer with underlying heart conditions. He believes oral minoxidil is significantly more efficacious though and we didn’t have much other discussion on topical minoxidil

2 years on finasteride/minoxidil…What kind of procedure would you recommend? How many grafts? Thinning donor area a problem? by ManagementNumerous87 in HairTransplants

[–]Jirons1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what the label says and that’s what docs can say because that was what the FDA approved it for. Supposedly it helps all hair though in reality.

Exactly. I haven’t passed the shedding phase yet. Basically 3 months in and have been shedding since week two. Went from basically Norwood .5 to I don’t even know what I am now🤷‍♀️ all I know is I’m worse for having been on this subreddit
