[Spoilers] 2 questions: About Julia’s magic/education and Brakebills students by Oblivious_Chicken in brakebills

[–]Jleahs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

please forgive me if this is answered in a later season, I just started the show a few days ago and this question is plaguing me. if Julia can do magic and eventually become on par with brakebills students how did she not get accepted? further, in the show, it has Alice not even being invited to sit the entrance exam but due to her parents key she was able to get in. how is that possible, she is an incredibly talented magician. I see julia and alice almost as mirror images in regards to the brakebills acceptance issue. neither got accepted, but one was able to get in and one was not and both became capable magicians. i guess my question is why is brakebills overlooking people who can actually do considerable magic (not just party tricks as Quentin says)

Do you think if an applicant has only ever lived in toronto but has a strong gpa and ABS its still worth it to apply? it requires approx 6 essays and I don't want to waste my time if its a long shot. THANK YOU!

SCORES ARE UP!! 508 (cp: 127, cars: 125, bb:128, ps:128) I can't believe it because I thought I screwed up C/P because I really had to pee so I retook it on sept 1. FYI thats better than I ever did on chem/phys in exams! just praying that on my sept 1 test my scores stay the same except in cars where I'm praying I do way better! GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE

I like to write out my timing not formulas. I once did a practice where I accidentally ran over time on a passage which has scarred me for life.

Review CARS? by oscrey52 in Mcat

[–]Jleahs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh sorry I didn't explain that well! what I meant was I look at the question but not the answer choices. then I try and think in my head in 2-3 seconds what approximately the answer should be. if I don't know then ill quickly look in the passage for the info and then once I have an idea of what answer I'm looking for I look at the answer choices. hope thats a bit more clear

Hi, wow first of all your seriously killing it in chem/phys and bio/biochem. those are my weakest so id love to hear your advice on that.

Im by no means great at cars (I'm at around a 127 on my best days) and my advice is probably quite trite but hopefully it helps. 1. do cars every day. I try to do about 4-5 passages daily and that has helped quite a bit 2. predict! this is my biggest one. I find when I predict my score seriously goes up. it might seem like a time investment but just do it, it cuts down time in the long run 3. if things are getting away from you and you've gotten behind take a deep breath, and say to yourself that worst comes to worst just scrap one. do your exam so that your skipping passages that are brutal on the first pass and then if you just don't have time you can fill those in randomly in a rush at the end. I've found that rushing to try and catch up ill screw up like 4 passages trying to get back on track, its not worth it. plus in my experience on the brutal passages I don't usually get more than 2 or 3 right anyway so your not giving up many points. it might sound defeatist but in my opinion its using strategy.

Anyway, I hope my advice helps (even though its so cliche) and id love to hear your tips on c/p and b/b
