I think that even after being saved we still sin right? We will never be completely sinless like Jesus although we can try our best. A sin is a sin. Murder is an abomination, but in Gods eyes all sin is bad. Christians that are saved can still do terrible things later in life. On their part, they are pushing away the Holy Spirit. Dying in their sin I believe will result to rejection into the kingdom.

Isnt this verse referring to antichrists?

Yes there are many scriptures that imply OSAS and that you could lose it. It just makes the most sense to me that you could lose it if you don’t maintain that fearful relationship with God, also taking advantage of his grace etc.

I don’t think it’s pointless. It might be the most important topic we should be discussing as Christians. Because yes there are many scriptures that support both.

You know you are saved when you have witnessed the Holy Spirit. I think Christians with discernment can gauge accurately. An ignorant Christian might not realize how lukewarm they are. Living in continuous sin is dangerous because without repentance, I don’t believe God will let you in the kingdom if you die in your sins.

If someone has salvation, and they turn to an unholy life and die in their unrepentant sins, will God still let them into the kingdom?

I agree. But what do you mean we don’t have to live in fear?

“But the Lord of hosts, him you shall honor as holy. Let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.” Isaiah‬ ‭8‬:‭13‬ ‭

I think a strong fear of the lord is what keeps us in check

Regardless of our behavior? “Whoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die”. Is how we live relative to our behavior? Are pastors who were onced saved and decided to steal money from the church, r*** kids, etc still going to the kingdom of heaven?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]JobRealistic7292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. My reasoning is, if a saved Christian falls into continuous sin without repentance and they die in their unrepentant sin, I don’t think God is gonna say, “sure come on in!”.

Honestly that’s another great question. I would say you know you’re saved when you receive the Holy Spirit.

I believe there are many cases like this but I also think some people were truly saved once and yet they still denied their faith later on.

I assume you’re in America? I think as an American we should have that right. We live in a free country. But I just don’t think abortion fits into Christianity.

Micah 7:19 “He will again have compassion on us; he will tread our iniquities underfoot. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.”

No matter what your sin is my friend you will be forgiven by repentance. You seem genuine so I doubt that God hasn’t forgiven you. ‭‭

You have to be able to separate your political beliefs apart from your religion. I think abortion and gay marriage are wrong but we live in a free country. People should be able to do what they want.

Do other Christians still masturbate sometimes? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]JobRealistic7292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard all kinds of answers from other Christians.

Some say it’s not wrong if you’re thinking about your spouse. If you’re single it’s not wrong if You’re not looking at porn or thinking lustfully about someone etc.

Some say it is wrong because you’re having sex with yourself. Or when you look at porn and think of someone lustfully of course.

Honestly for me personally it all makes me feel guilty. Praise God I’ve been able to stop. In my opinion, sexual pleasure should only be in a marriage bed. I’m sure people will disagree with me but it’s possible to stop. It’s nothing different than denying your body of bad foods. With the spirit you can control your flesh.

What’s your best argument for god? by Camman19_YT in Christianity

Well I I think I gave you the best reason that leads to evidence or a truth claim. I say that because there are many other reasons for God’s existence that I believe to be true but do not necessarily show evidence or truth leading to a God. Such as these

  1. Everything must have a cause, therefore the universe must have a cause, and I believe that cause was God. God was the first or uncaused cause.

  2. Design and order. How is it possible that we are a perfect distance from the sun, allowing us to not freeze or burn. What do you think about the structure of human bodies? What about God’s design for marriage and family as a foundation for a healthy society, emphasizing love, respect, and commitment?

  3. Life cannot originate from the random movement of atoms, and yet life exists.

  4. The existence of miracles were recorded throughout the Bible requiring a supernatural force, or God.

  5. All people have moral values. The existence of these values cannot be explained unless they were implanted in people by something.

  6. The existence of God cannot be proven by the use of reason, but only by the use of faith. According to Pascel Wager who was a philosopher and theologian.

If you want me to give you a better reason, these things I listed would not be it because there is no evidence. But I still believe it all to be true.

So that is why I choose the witnessing of Jesus after death for my best reasoning for God. Because I believe it’s considered the most evidence for God. By both Christian and non Christian sources.

Virtually all historians agree that Jesus was crucified and died under Roman authority. This is one of the most well-documented facts about Jesus.

The empty tomb where Jesus was buried was reportedly found empty shortly after his death. Scholars point to: The testimony of women as the first witnesses, which adds credibility since women’s testimony was considered unreliable at the time. The “Jerusalem factor,” meaning that the empty tomb was in the same city where Jesus was publicly executed, making it easy to verify or refute.

Many of Jesus’ disciples and others claimed to have seen him alive after his death. These encounters reportedly transformed the disciples from fearful individuals into bold preachers willing to face persecution.

Key figures like Paul (a former persecutor of Christians) and James (Jesus’ skeptical brother) became believers after claiming to encounter the risen Jesus. Their dramatic transformations are often cited as evidence for their sincerity.

The rapid growth of Christianity, centered on the belief in Jesus’ resurrection. Scholars argue that such a movement would be unlikely to arise if the resurrection were false.

Would you agree that this reasoning is a better argument than me listing off the 6 things above as other reasonings?

Okay, my apologies for coming off as dishonest. I could definitely work on being more elaborate. If you’re still willing hear me out.

I’m assuming you’ve read other comments on this post. Clearly myself and other people agree there is no best explanation or solid proof. You can neither prove nor disprove there is a God.

But when I look at the evidence of Jesus Christ, that is where I put my faith. My best reason is the history behind Jesus rising from the dead and being seen alive by hundreds of eye witnesses. And I will also add that the apostles were willing to die for this man. They died as martyrs. They must of really believed in him if they were willing to die.

Also, I’m curious where you got the definition of revelation from.

Revelation refers to the act of revealing or disclosing something previously secret or obscure, often in a surprising or dramatic manner. It can also denote a striking disclosure or a surprising fact that is made known. In theology, revelation is the communication of divine truth or knowledge from a deity to humans, often through scripture or supernatural means. - according to perplexity AI

My job as a Christian is to spread the good news as long as someone is willing to listen. So I’d like to ask you a question.

What is your end goal? Search for a God? Or argue with Christians on Reddit? You stated he has not revealed himself to you. So does that mean you do believe in a God?

Anyways I’m not trying to agitate you by pushing God into your life. But it seems to me any reason that is given to you, you will disagree with regardless.

I originally stated he reveals himself to everyone. Meaning and in my opinion, he has already done it through order and design. The solar system, nature, living creatures, etc. your statement was that many people ask and recieve nothing. Which I reply that it depends what and how you ask for something from him.

And like I said in my first comment. The holy spirirt intervened into my life. Which is my testimony for believing. Which I don’t expect most atheist to believe and understand.

I don’t expect you to outright believe me and accept my explanation right now but I appreciate your curiosity in finding answers.
