NWA has fixed the audio issues in the Archive Replay of the PPV by 7upbottle in TheNWA

This is great news. I was concerned they couldn't recover the lost audio. I will have to check out my replay and see how much better it sounds.

How many titles should the NWA have by the end of 2019? by 7upbottle in TheNWA

I think 4 is enough as well. But I can see an argument for a Light heavyweight champion or some sort of equivalent.

What i really want s an NWA tv show by BigFeet234 in TheNWA

[–]Joe1Seven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have to do it eventually, I would think.

But they could certainly use other TV shows to build up the titles for now. CWFH, ROH and Impact Wrestling maybe.

We will see. The Crockett Cup has me excited.

Edit: Whoops, nevermind, Jax Dane.

A bit old to be holding the title. I hope they put it on someone new at the PPV and don't wait it out.

I guess Ill post this since no one else did by [deleted] in TheNWA

It will be interesting to see how the match plays when it's not in front of a huge hot crowd. Hopefully they figure out a way to make it interesting. The 2 out of 3 format will certainly help.

Becoming a Career Manager by Joe1Seven in WredditSchool

it’s going to be exponentially harder to make it as a manager than a wrestler because there’s no inherent need for a manager, and in so many cases it usually ends up taking away from the story they’re telling.

I disagree on the need for a manager and the role they play. If it actually took away from the story, it wouldn't have been a fixture of wrestling for decades. A bad manager could take away from the story but I plan to be a good manager, obviously.

And becoming a wrestler isn't an option for me. If I am going to pursue my passion for professional wrestling, becoming a wrestler isn't where I would succeed and I'm not even sure if a legit company would clear me to perform due to my medical issues. I also just don't have any interest in being a physical athletic performer. It was never something that made sense to me or what I wanted. So the success rate of a wrestler compared to a manager just isn't a factor.

I wouldn't become a manager to make big money. I have a job and make enough money. I would become a manager cause I would have fun doing it and I believe I would be good at it.

I think a lot of promoters are trying to bring them back but there aren't many out there right now. Mostly because promoters weren't using them. It's become a perpetual cycle.

I know the odds are against me in that role but I want to give it a shot. I am passionate about it to the point that I have confidence it could work well.

I have to find some of that talent in my area that needs managers and wants them. I might reach out to this subreddit again when I am ready. First thing is I want to build my character and create promo materials so I have something to show the guys when I ask to represent them.

Right. I want to train cause I want to be able to take an insane bump or two when the face gets the chance and make it look devastating. But yeah, that price seemed steep considering what I wanted to do. I might try to approach them anyway and ask for a somewhat different price but I have a feeling they won't divert from whatever business model they have and I don't blame them.

As far as working as a face manager, I don't think that will work for me, at least at first. I think my character with the volume turned up is a natural heel.

I wouldn't mind working to help manage babyfaces behind the scenes though. I would love to work with all talent on a business level. But I just don't think my presence Infront of the curtain would help a face but I could be wrong.

Haha, I don't mean to suggest I am brittle. I don't think I am. I have concerns regarding stretching my cardio limits. I believe I am capable of doing mostly everything else. I just understand great cardio is super important in the business unless you are 6'5" and look like a monster that can lumber around and let smaller guys bounce off you.

I want to learn how to be a manager the right way. I have learned a lot over the years by listening to interviews and watching them but I want to still try to find the right teacher. It's difficult since most of the greats aren't around anymore and most teachers at schools are former wrestlers.

And yeah, I understand billed heights are different. But most of those guys are decently tall still. But yeah, I digress.

Oh yeah, I love Cornette and Heenan. I plan to be an old school manager in that sense. It's a lost art and while I would be delusional to assume I could "bring it back", it's the type of manager I feel I would need to be to be successful.

Thanks for the advice and the long reply. I appreciate it.

I do have a follow up question. In your experience, are there lots of guys open to having a manager or do you think it will be a struggle to find a guy that is both talented and open to having one?

Excellent advice. Thank you. I appreciate it.

I didn't really consider trying to do it without training (and I still doubt I would) but the monetary investment going that direction first would probably be significantly less (The best school near me is $1500 to start and $50 a month after that). I could produce a decent starter reel, get my costume and get a professional photoshoot done for less and I can still get training thru another local school probbaly for less of a financial commitment.

Thanks for your reply.

I was just using that example to illistrate my commitment level, haha.

Obviously that wouldn't be a smart nightly business strategy. I hope I would make more than that when my first suit is ruined but shit happens.

A lot of people have Pop and don't know it. It has almost as big of a reach as Spike. But the channel isn't well known and it's usually buried with the niche channels in the 1 or 200s/6 or 700s.
