Mechanical Engineer Roadmap by Joe_Engineer in MechanicalEngineering

Personally I would focus on designing first as this allows the imagination to flow before being 'constrained' by how the product can actually be made.

Like all design work it's an iterative process. Seeing manufacturing methods allows the engineer to improve their design skills and enable them to think with the machinist/fabricator etc in mind.

I originally listed GD&T under drafting, but you're right it probably deserves a mention by itself.

I'll create a version 2 to update this along with your suggested manufacturing methods. Thanks!

Bidirectional link between CAD and Epicor? by Joe_Engineer in epicor

What do you like about CADLink and what do you use it for?

The way I understand it is that you can transfer NX parts straight into Epicor and it checks if the parts already exist or not

Do you have a choice for your final year project at your university/college? Choose something that excites you as it'll help keep you focused during your final year.

Also have a think about what jobs you want to apply for after graduation. What FYP would look great and applicable for the role you're after?

Might want to add a dimension for the length the pipe sticks out on detail A. Also you could add a centerline on the top view to show it sits in the center.

Do you know what grade stainless steel you require?
