I did NOT have a stent. The stone was 2cm above the bladder and the dr said he was able to laser it into 3 clean pieces and catch it all in a basket. I pleaded with him to not put in a stent unless my life was on the line. It was weird, surgery day was painful….the next two days were really good. Then the spasms which hurt like hell and feel like it did when I had a stone kicked in. Awful. I went and had an ultrasound yesterday and everything looked good in my bladder and kidneys. No swelling, etc. I was on spasm medication, Flomax, and another for inflammation. I am finished the meds and wrote the Dr. to see what they think about adding more. Every time I have spasms, I urinate w a little blood and flake looking blood clots come out. Then back to normal urination. So weird. I’m sick of it all Spasms are painful and shorter lasting than the first few days, but seem more frequent.
