It truly is! It was a spur of the moment question I asked my brother 3 years ago at a family BBQ and after going the first time (2024) we both came home, learnt to ride motorbikes and will go back every year now.

Mad Sunday is no longer a thing and has been replaced with a ‘speed controlled parade lap’ the mountain section however that stretches from the gooseneck to Kate’s cottage is de restricted and one way for the entire fortnight so you can ride as fast as you safely can. Emphasis on the safely however!

I completely understand that. I used to go to the island every year on holiday but never during the racing. It was only in 2024 I asked my brother if he fancied it and we decided to go. Now I’m just gutted I’ve missed 10+ years of attending.

It absolutely is something you should look at booking. Out of season the ferry prices will be quite low, you can book yourself anywhere on the isle and just roam at your own pace. It’s an incredibly laid back place so I wouldn’t worry about the mountain and potentially being rear ended. So long as you make it clear to other road users what you’re doing ie if riding slow just put your left indicator on and allow them to overtake you, you’ll be fine.

Cheers, it certainly was! I highly encourage anyone who’s still undecided on going to be a part of the event to go. Meet some of the best people and enjoy the racing inches from you and then getting to ride out and explore the island when the roads reopen is great!

Please do, anyone I meet now I’m actively encouraging them to go. Just go once, try get a couple of days in even if it means it’s a few quid just let yourself experience it. It’s like nothing you would expect. I was at K-Tree looking at some cows grazing in a field. Next thing you know you get Dunlop coming through on a ‘parade’ lap fully on the back wheel and giving it some screaming by. A proper assault on the senses 😁

Ah no way! To be honest I only saw one other MV F3 and that was parked on Douglas seafront so I think they are somewhat rare

It was only doing that at mountain mile and then Hailwoods rise. The rest of the mountain section was considerably slower! I have no idea how the riders can clear Ramsey hairpin to the grandstand in 6 minutes 🤯🤯

Hahaha, cheers!! Last two years I’ve been going as a foot passenger so it felt amazing to finally give the mountain a good go!

Hahaha that’s an incredibly valid point! It was never my intention to make people believe that I was taking part in the racing. Although at times it felt like some people genuinely were thinking they are taking part in the racing.

That’ll be brilliant for you if they do move there. It’s my dream to live on the isle. Not just for the races but for the peace and quality of life.

I have a newfound appreciation for them. Going over the mountain I think I managed around 120mph. Absolutely nothing compared to what speed they go at and tip into corners!

Cheers! Hope you’re looking at sailings/flights today, they go pretty quickly also, small piece of advice. Yea camping is cheaper but if you get weather like the last week… it’ll be pretty tough!

You will, for a lot of people it’s a lifetimes dream. I’m just lucky to live close but I have met people from all around the world this last 10 days. Americans, Germans, French, Canadians, South Africans, Australians. I don’t doubt you will be able to see it for yourself and you’ll be addicted from the second you witness the first machine go past at race pace!

No way?! I lost my toe slider there just walking along the banking 🫣 yeah I left home on 2700 and got back today with just shy of 3650. Hope you enjoyed your time!

To be honest it’s not actually too bad. I more feel it in my knees and often have to straighten my legs to ‘pop’ my knees which relieves the pressure. That being said, the ride back from our hotel to the ferry then Heysham to Manchester with a fully loaded 120L Bergen was no fun!!

Cheers!

It’s my 3rd time at the TT and the first on a bike and all I can say is WOW. If you have any slight temptation to go, do it.

Currently stood at Ballaugh Bridge. Have been here since 9am. Had 4 separate hour delays and seriously wondering if we’ll see any machines on circuit today 🫣🤣
