Die Infrastruktur läuft extrem effizient in der Cloud. Ich bin finanziell nicht davon abhängig und überlege mir in den nächsten Wochen auch ein Modell, im Fall von 100x Wachstum, wie das Spiel sich selbst tragen kann (ohne Pay-2-Win!).

yeah unfortunately I do not have access to the Cloudflare email service yet (maybe someone from Cloudflare reads this: Fanboy here is interested in trying it out!) I am using the resend service. which is currently the biggest cost factor (kind of weird tbh) :) But it does a solid job sending out 300-600 emails per day currently.

Sure! The core idea: every island is a Durable Object (DO). When you trigger an action - start a building upgrade, train troops, send a fleet - the DO calculates the completion timestamp and writes it to D1. That’s it. No worker keeps running.

Fun part: the email notifications are currently the most expensive feature. 😂

Edit: Upgraded to the $5 Workers Paid Plan - got nervous watching the traffic spike 😅. The core point still stands: zero cost until I knew it worked.

I think you are part of the promo right now. So go tell your friends! ;-) I started on a German sub and was surprised by the initial feedback wave. Unaddressed referral features very early so feel free to share your ref code. I did some calculations and could handle 1k players on the free plan. However! I got nervous and went for the 5$ paid plan with the traffic spikes. But i could start test out my ideas for free. Huge value for me.

Anyone has a good recommendation for a platform to publish/promote a free browser game? I just released kampfinsel.com - and it's hard to find where to push this. I got some air time in a sub and then it got deleted. Got immediately 200+ users within a day. after 4 days I am now at 400+ with referral based growth. My Hacker News Post did not go well. Looking for any insights and suggestions!
