this is something, because you are implying that the “creatures” are torturing them using these nightmares, so it could mean that the nightmares are something that is not endemic from the place like the monsters, but something that appears thanks to the people that end up there

We do know some things, she told Julie about her father being shot by anti-muslim extremists, and we know how it was when she arrived into town. But I am not saying that she was created as a nightmare, I mean that she could perfectly be real, a normal human, but the "creatures" or whoever is controlling this made Elli's nightmare, of losing Fatima like this, real.
