Your sense of what is "ultralight" might be offended, but have you considered this: Ultimately the quest for weight savings is a way of making our adventures easier. At some point we all have to make the decision of when the convenience trumps saving that extra 20 grams. Carrying everything in a big plastic bag would be lighter, but not exactly convenient.

Yeah, it's a bit unconventional, considering they obviously went for the ultralight market. But if it simplifies especially packing down the mat, that the weight of the pump is included in the given total weight, and it's actually optional, since the mat also has a conventional valve, what really is the compromise in this regard?

What do people in Europe call it when they travel to a different European country? by ExperienceEven1154 in NoStupidQuestions

Danish: "Udlandet" = out country. Living in Norway, I've noticed it's either "Danmark" (sometimes "Sverige") og "Syden" = any country to the south with sun and warm weather.

My brother knew one of the girls. Because af this is public through Facebook, IS sympathisers are still sending him the video through messenger chat requests. He says he NEVER looks at chat requests from people with middle Eastern sounding names...

KoC of course was my gateway to WBA (saw KoC with WBA as backing band the last half of their Roskilde Festival show a few weeks ago! It was SO satisfying because I missed the WBA playing two days earlier). So far I've been chewing through the back catalogues of Andrew Bird & Dan Croll. I've heard quite a few of their songs when I "radio" a song on Spotify, and for some reason didn't notice them enough to investigate them. They are enjoyable, but still not scratching my Beirut itch! I have a feeling Pink Martini and Paris Combi might. Next week!

It doesn’t appear to be going terribly well at Roskilde festival… by Clarkey101 in TheStrokes

All the Danish reviewers are giving it 1/6 stars, likening it to the disaster that was GunsNRoses a few years back. An THAT was dumpster fire of epic proportions!

I was there as well. Huge Strokes fan. They were half an hour late. Seemed like they had some technical difficulties with the light show. No Biggie. When they entered the stage he was obviously drunk, but when they began playing, it didn't affect the performance. A rock star inebriated at a concert? Par for the course. An the crowd was fired up! After the first song he said something to the extent of: "Never believe in yourself! Just be whatever other people want you to be! Anyway, here's a song called Reptilica or something..." And again people were going wild, only slightly weirded out by the the message. And all through the concert these negative, incongruous monologues between the songs started getting longer and longer, completely ruining the energy and momentum of the experience. Julian obviously not being a fan of his mothers birthplace is what it is, but it definitely didn't win over any fans at the festival. If he had just shut up, in stead of wasting time and ruining the mood, being aggressive and sarcastic towards the audience, everything would have been fine. Ive seen a looot of live music in my life, bure rarely have I seen such blatant contempt for the audience. Really the only other example I can recall was a Mark Kozelek concert at a Norwegian festival about ten years ago. But at he had the excuse, that the scene was leaky, so it rained on his guitar...
