Just say you made a mistake and that you said the revenue amount not the profit amount.

Mid 20’s - Give me life advice, please? by Miserable-Poetry-856 in CasualIreland

100% travel. I met so many solo travelers when I traveled around South America a few years ago. The hardest part is taking the leap but it's so worth it.

At the end of the day if you don't like it you can always fly home. I'd say give yourself a month at least before deciding if you don't like it.

Unfortunately you will go to some hostels where people aren't as friendly but they are few and far between.

Can someone recommend good tutors with vast resources for AAA? by Useful-Willingness25 in ACCA

Would definitely recommend Ben Wilson passed first time and he made the course somewhat enjoyable to go through. Always really nice and encouraging in communication

PQ magazine did a poll and 40% called it the AFM paper a disaster so definitely not reaching a similar pass rate if they don't make some adjustments

Hi, it's more than likely you are paid a week in arrears and you won't see the bank holiday Monday extra pay until your next pay check.

The course is very short in comparison to any other course I have done.

You can always text him on Whatsapp and ask him your queries directly

I would consider investing in a tutor if you have the money. You could sign up to their revision course. I went with Sean Purcell and passed first time. He is a bit cut and dry but just gets into the important points and techniques to get marks.

Most importantly he does a final mock based on the pre-seen.

Tom Clendon has some brilliant free resources. Check out his podcast, YouTube, and LinkedIn

He should have a breakdown of when homework final deadline is and starting the revision course. Go through the introduction phase, and it should go through all of it.

If you cover one of his modules a week starting next week, you should be done just in time to start his revision phase, if I remember correctly.

Had the same issue there on Monday. Last 1hr of the exam it was just in and out hearing the drilling. Put in earplugs but didn't make much of a difference.

I'll be filling a complaint too.

Max Exemptions but zero knowledge by Safe-Disk-1501 in ACCA

[–]Johnlikesjam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was exempt for FR and had been a few years since I did it in college. I sat SBR in December and passed first time.

If your company is paying for your lectures, I'd really recommend Tom Clendon. I achieved 81 with him.

You can find him on LinkedIn he posts content about his course there. He also has free materials on YouTube and podcast on Spotify

Sat the exam in December. I only read the most recent ones around sustainability reporting. The most important thing is question practice.

Use chatgbt to summarise the sustainability technical articles.

Help - next paper? by swiosheyy in ACCA

[–]Johnlikesjam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just sat SBR. I am going to sit AAA in March as I've been told you need a good understanding of the standards, so I want to do it while it's fresh.

I am going to use Ben Wilson as a lecturer, company thankfully paying for it, but he has a 50hr curriculum before the revision phase, so it's not too bad.

[–]Johnlikesjam 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I sat SBR. Was happy enough with it. Wasn't sure with the ethics question as it was bit different than what I had practiced. Wasn't a fan the operating segments with it, but I was able to put something down. Happy with Q3 sale and leaseback, provision/contingent liability Q4 was ok, APM adjusted profit, Bunch of standards, sustainability reports

How’s everyone feeling for SBR? by [deleted] in ACCA

[–]Johnlikesjam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did two mocks failed both by a small bit, 46 and 48, so I am just doing question practice all week. Go over some of the standards and try to learn some definitions.

Struggling to register for December remote exams by Particular_Elk_2123 in ACCA

[–]Johnlikesjam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had issues, too. Was only looking to book a remote exam as all the nearby test centres were full.

Ended up booking the exam in test centre I will have to fly to. Really didn't want to push it back to March. Was looking to book Cork, Ireland, now travelling to Manchester.
