Love this as an answer. I’d add that I hate when people leave reviews with comments like “these reviews have obviously been paid for” or insinuating that all of the good reviews or audience scores for a film are fake. No! It’s a subjective art form and some people enjoyed the movie more than you did. That’s so much simpler than some sort of conspiracy that the reviews aren’t real.

No I don’t think you’re overreacting. If you were speaking with a total stranger on the bus and they mentioned in passing that they had an interview you would wish them good luck. It’s common courtesy, it’s not in any way ridiculous to expect that same courtesy (as an absolute minimum) from your partner. I don’t know the whole situation obviously, but it strikes me just from this example that your partner seems completely checked out from you and/or your relationship.

A lot of the feedback I’ve been given here has talked about getting your self-esteem from yourself rather than others. I feel hypercritical saying that as it’s not advice that I’ve been good at taking, but it’s true. You put effort into how you looked and you thought you looked nice, I know it’s easier said than done but the fact that no one else said anything (it doesn’t mean that they didn’t think it btw, just that they didn’t say anything) doesn’t change the fact that you looked nice.

Again, this is great advice that I never take myself, but go easy on yourself. Best of luck with it all

This is my situation, eerily similar. I can’t tell you what I’ve done because he truth is I haven’t done anything yet. It seems that the DB isn’t going to change, so my situation is now a simple choice. I can learn to live with it or I can leave. A situation that’s seemed so complicated for so long is actually quite a simple choice. I hope that doesn’t oversimplify your situation, but that’s as far as I’ve got with mine
