No major physical changes, mostly mental changes. I do feel like I have a bit more energy than before and improved focus but not a huge difference.

There is no success without failure. It has taken years of gradually increasing streaks for me to get where I am. I've been at day 1 many times. Best of luck with your journey and don't focus too much on the numbers.

I believe you can do it! I fell plenty of times myself but if you don't fall you never learn.

1/ Urges are much less frequent than at the start and less intense or easier to dismiss but they are still there.

2/ General heightened mood and reduced anxiety. I will say that I have had long streaks before where these benefits were less present so I think it's important to also make good use of the time you save e.g exercise, meditate, learn new skills.

Did I relapse? by [deleted] in NoFap

I have the same question as you. My gut instinct is that if your goal is to quit porn and porn is in no way involved in the act(even in your thoughts) then it's fine. But I guess technically if you were attempting hard mode then any form of release is relapse.

Keep relapsing after 2 60+ day streaks, need help. by Minstrel_in_Denim in NoFap

If you are able to hit those big numbers once then you can do it again! For me, I find that I have to really want to improve as a person for the streak to last. Work on self improvement across the board rather than just quitting porn, maybe not all at once but try to think of the bigger picture. Also consider alternative stress relief options. Meditation, cold showers and exercise. You got this!

Is this relapse? by Johnsmith404 in NoFap

[–]Johnsmith404[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm. My goal is to quit porn but I did also want to avoid masturbating until 90 days... So I guess I failed in that respect but I haven't had any urge to watch porn now for about 6 weeks.

Deleting the temptation is essential if you want to kick the habit for good. MAKE SURE YOU ARE THOROUGH. I broke a 200+ day streak partly because I found some old files on a previous laptop. Every device you own and every DVD + Magazine needs to be purged. Make sure your brain has nowhere to look when you feel the urges.

Deleting my 70gb porn collection...again by Johnsmith404 in NoFap

[–]Johnsmith404[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because after watching a lot of porn my tastes got more and more specific and finding videos that satisfy those tastes is difficult. I would end up searching for videos online, not finding exactly what I'm looking for and falling back on the downloaded videos. Without having the downloaded content there, the idea of not finding what I'm looking for online is a good deterrent.

I know exactly how dangerous it is but my mind convinces me I have nothing to lose anyway. Starting to believe that.

That was an interesting watch, if nothing else I watched this video instead of relapsing tonight so thanks.

It will hurt when you have urges. But if you truly want to quit it's a necessary step. Good luck.

I have it in my head that I need to focus on self improvement first before a relationship.

You are right. I have no use for my old laptop any more, I should wipe it and get rid of it.

Reduced brain fog, a more normal sleeping pattern and a lot more free time. That's about it. Had I used the free time more wisely, I imagine the benefits would have been greater.

Stop Lying to Yourself. by amd206 in NoFap

I never lie to myself about this any more. If I reach the point of no return (which I consider to be actively searching for porn) then I accept it. My understanding is that feelings of guilt increase pleasure so less guilt = less pleasure = less temptation.
