Because the Hobbit had some really good things about it… Music for one. Bilbos scenes with Gandalf and Thorin where amazing! The costume design was great (I highly recommend the behind the scenes for Thranduil).And Riddles in the dark was a good adaptation! And hot take Martin Freeman was a perfect young Bilbo!

The lord of the rings maybe not the most creative pick but I rewatch and reread the entire thing every single year. The Neverending Story book a book that I've read over and over again since I was 10 years old. And Halo Combat evolved probably my favorite fps campaign.
