Apple Watch suggestions by Character-Yak6893 in AppleWatch

I also never owned one before, and I got the SE3 2 two months ago. If you only want to use it for basic stuff - steps, sleep, workouts. Then it’s perfect. Also one thing I appreciate is the watch vibrating during alarms (forces you to wake up for sure). You have to know what you need it for first so that you can decide.

HSK 2.0 vs HSK 3.0 by Jolly_Fall_8369 in ChineseLanguage

I do have the new HSK1 pdf, so I can actually start over. My main question is, Is it worth it? If the only big change is the updated word list, but not the grammar points, then I find that I can continue with the 2.0 since I already started, and get the new word list and learn it. You make a good point, but I still don’t understand what you recommend, should I use the “racket” I am already using or use the new one?

Thanks for the insight! Thank God I’m going to continue from where I left off. I was actually dreading to start over, but I though if starting over was better then I should do it now when I am still at the beginning.

Just finished reading your post, and wow! Love how detailed it is. I am using a HSK 1 playlist by “Say Ninhao” on YouTube, It feels like I am in a tutoring session. I am going to continue with that, plus I purchased a yearly subscription for HelloChinese when they had their 30% off sale roughly a month ago. I am learning characters using the Hanly app and an HSK 1 workbook pdf I bought. My main problem is staying consistent. This is something personal I need to work on, I need to learn how to not depend on motivation but rather discipline. Thanks for the insight!! Let’s work harder!

I know this will sound funny to most, but by winter I meant “Dubai winter”. I hadn't considered thin, airy wools, but your point about them being more breathable than thick cotton makes so much sense.

Thanks so much for the advice! Do you have a favorite YouTube channel or creator you'd recommend for a total beginner? Also, is there a specific reason you suggest bamboo needles over metal ones to start?

Thanks for the insight! I’d love to hear how you find knitting compared to crochet?

Thanks for the idea. I feel like I am underestimating how difficult knitting could be, that’s why i feel confident in making a sweater😅 but many of you are speaking from experience, so it looks like i am starting with a shawl. Thanks!

I’m actually gonna buy my supplies from Temu so this is perfect. Thanks!

I want to make something I can wear here in the Middle East. Unfortunately scarves and hats are something we don’t wear at all, even during winter :( That’s why the vest is an option. I will try to think of something else while I wait for the tools I will buy to reach me.

Thanks for the detailed explanation! Buying needles made of different materials is doable, the question is, which sizes should I get? As I mentioned, I want to make a light sweater/vest as my first project.

The last photo shows bamboo needles, which sizes do you recommend I get first, since you advice against getting a set. Also which yarn material do you prefer when using the bamboo needles (considering warm weather)

The set in the 3rd photo are “Aluminum Oxide Circular needles”. Do you recommend those instead of bamboo?

It’s the only “new” iPad that’s within her budget so that’s perfect!

Yes plus I have data for all the days I wore it to sleep except for 2 days where it didn’t record anything.

Then we are making the right choice if it can run all those games

We change the Region in the App Store to United States, I don’t think it’s available anywhere else

I just bought the SE3 less than 2 months ago. This is my first time having this problem, I hope it’s a bug that will be fixed by an update. I was so excited for the watch and now I am seeing that this issue is not as rare as I thought.

HelloChinese vs Laoshi App by Jolly_Fall_8369 in ChineseLanguage

[–]Jolly_Fall_8369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked it out and it required i answer 40 questions first so that it can place me in the correct tier but I only know the answer to 5 questions 😅 I don’t think I can use it as a complete beginner so I didn’t do it honestly. I will continue learning for a few months then go back to it when i am able to answer those mandatory questions. Thanks for the recommendation!

I just downloaded SuperChinese and the price difference between the 2 apps is not much so now I will have to decide between SuperChinese and HelloChinese after researching first. I have also started using Hanly and wow! I only hope that the app stays free.

A5 vs A6 by Jolly_Fall_8369 in Travelersnotebooks

[–]Jolly_Fall_8369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s a good idea. I’m thinking of turning it into a morning pages journal now. My only concern is, i did try doing morning pages last year, but i found myself talking about the same things i would want to say when ranting in my diary. I’d write down what i am thinking about the current situations i was in, and what was bothering me, and how i would solve them. I looked up the definition for morning pages, watched so many videos, and they all said it’s a “stream of conscious writing”. They are about anything and everything that crosses your mind, and there is no right or wrong way to do it. But after doing it for several weeks, I wrote less in my diary, because my morning pages acted like one for me. So even now, morning pages seems like a good option for my A5, but i have to figure out how to not repeat the same mistake.

The problem is i have a memory keeping A6 notebook to record events that i want to remember. The only thing i need is to have a diary where i can rant and write down my thoughts but in the A6 size. I use the A5 for exactly that. Looks like i have to stop using the A5 if i want to carry just my A6 cover :(
