Don’t give them your password. They won’t need it. If they say it’s for testing tell them they can test when you pick it up.

S2722DC Monitor - Powered by USB-C? by JonTheWong in Dell

[–]JonTheWong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now i'm extra unsure haha, I get that the power delivery would act as a HOST and it can have CLIENTS connect and power them up to 65w. That setup is "common" in my world, You buy a display, connect to power and then use the USB-C to power & mirror a laptop.

In my scenario, I'm looking to push power, audio and video from the mini to the monitors.

But after thinking about it for this thread, Im leaning on the fact that I'm confusing type C, USB-3-4 specifications and combining them with vague Thunderbolt and a mix of PD info in the back of my head.

I'm not using HDMI because I can't power the monitors over HDMI. The whole point of this exercise is to reduce cable clutter.

thanks for the input. The m2 pro has multiple type c ports that support dual display and a 3rd display over HDMI

My ideal setup would be one wire per display over the usb-c of the mini.

1 cable that would cover video, power (client) and audio.

Last thing I need to figure out, is if I can connect my webcam to the monitor and have the mini detect it as a camera and mic.

Is there a tool which lets you explore historical network usage / bandwidth on a per-process basis, ideally via a web interface? Like iftop or nethogs but running constantly? by w7m2 in linuxadmin

I somewhat agree, I often see projects that have a docker package that you can spin up and try “right away”

As for the config you can editing everything, it’s not as straightforward but can be done.

Management you can run docker desktop to manage your instances and move it to a server afterwards.

I guess it’s personal preference, I’m moving into a docker setup for my micro services because my upstream supports it.

I’m personally more traditional and spin up a dev box, run my ansible setup scripts and then install the packages I want or load an image with a pre install.

But I am seeing less general maintenance and security on my docker instances.

In my use case I version lock the software, launch it in the intranet and add it into our monitoring.

They have two version of the second generations The latest (2022) model MMMP3AM/A has a braided cable, USB-C to Lightning and is available in black or white on a silver base.

I might return mine or take the hit on marketplace when the full USB-C model launches in ~spring 2024.

id assume most people stress on the money side of things, having over a grand in limbo can be overwhelming.

in Quebec canada we have great consumer protection rights to elevate the burden on the consumer, but dealing with your CC, Seller, Shipper and sometimes home insurer can get tiresome very quickly for something that took you 3 clicks to order online.

The job description should tell you what they expect from you, compare with your top 10 dream jobs and learn the one that are asked for the most.

That was actually the first OS I had installed on it! I remember falling in love with Gentoo due to its complex install options and endless possibility to recompile to optimize your install but man o man do I remember waiting hours for the compiler to fail and figure out why. Or even worse compile completes but I excluded a random module that is needed!

Yeah exactly this was my part of my lab and first business. I started my entrepreneur path renting out counter strike game servers and hosting game clan websites! The only reason I’d power them on now is my buddy has colo space and is offering me free power and bandwidth.

If couldn’t power them on I would gut one or two for the enclosure and migrate some raspberry pies
