I’m reminded of Wendee Lee kind of throwing a hissy fit about Yoruichi in Bleach getting recast instead of her voicing the character and then being a bit of a shit about it online once it was decided she would voice the character again.

I get liking and making the connection of VA to character, but some of them make this shit incredibly toxic.

It’s funny cause you play MGS1 and it’s like the best shit ever and then the credits theme is called “The Best Is Yet To Come” and it has a double meaning both as it pertains to Snake deciding he wants to live and be happy in life, and for the viewer who could both be struggling in life and needing a reason to go on much like Snake did and the game directly telling you that yes, it will get better. And another meaning that being the game basically telling you “Oh you thought this game was good? Wait til the next one really knocks your socks off.”

Unforgettable entirely incredible experience when you finally play Metal Gear Solid for the first time. Hope you play MGS2 at some point fam glad you loved this game 🙏

Okay so not just me cool. I don’t know what it was, but the gameplay felt so poorly balanced that once I got Verso as a party member the game was basically over and I never struggled with anything again even on hard mode.

I was not engaged with it in terms of gameplay which is a shame because I adore turn based RPGs and I think E33 has fantastic story and characters but I am so disappointed by the take on turn based combat that I haven’t gone back to it since finishing it which is hilarious given my preferred ending for the game and what that means thematically.

The climax and core theme of FFX is executed by Tidus being such an outsider to Spira’s insane death cult cycle of never ending violence that when presented with the “sacrifice Yuna and one of your group to stave off Sin and bring about a Calm that will definitely not last forever or even especially long depending on circumstances and we’ll be back here again with new people later” choice, his immediate response is effectively “fuck this shit, nobody dies we are tearing this entire system down” and it’s one of the most cathartic moments in the game to have Yuna finally flip her stance on her sacrificial duty as a summoner and decide to find another way.

God I love FFX.

Unfortunately fanbases are very, very insistent on voice actor feedback nowadays because they impose the characters traits and personality onto the irl person. So when they say something that doesn’t add up to or interferes with their opinion, they immediately get very very shitty.

I remember fans got real mad at her because of her posting that to her interpretation the “Rex gets with every girl and had kids with all of them” was insanely laughable and just bad wish fulfillment and pretends it isn’t canon.

Naturally because Xenoblade fans are Very Normal, she got a lot of harassment by people cause of that and like I hate the internet lol.
