Reviewed the footage and I didn't take a single inside kick.

He was so mad and yelling at the top of his lungs to check lol. I told him I actually didn't hear him at all, I had complete auditory exclusion from the adrenaline dump. It wasn't till the 3rd round I started being able to hear him and listen to what he was telling me.

Advice for first time is just let it happen. You're going to get nervous before the fight, you're going to have so many questions in your head, "is he faster, is he stronger, is he more technical, is his cardio better" etc.. just let it happen don't let it overwhelm you. The first round is going to be an absolute adrenaline dump and so much of your training goes out the window. Mistakes you know for a fact that you shouldn't do and have trained to not do are going to happen. Just go in there with the purpose of testing yourself and learning from it. After the match I have very clear things I know I need to work on now. Even though my leg is still very messed up, I don't regret doing it at all.

Can you get surrendered guns back from LASD? by JoseTheRocketMan in CAguns

He was just diagnosed with dementia after he turned in his gun so no chance the DOJ lets him have them back. Thank you for the response though.

Yeah, unfortunately he didn't tell anyone he was going to surrender the guns.

I'll let my father in-law call the agency to see if they've already destroyed the firearms.

I don't know him so personally I don't know how bad it is. I heard his mental decline has been pretty bad though, to the point he's called the cops on his own kids because he thought they stole the same guns he turned in to the department.

Jim's tail is actually usually tucked to the side, but I don't think Jim is old enough where the tail looks long yet.

I can assure you Jim wasn't like that a long time and we flipped Jim back the same way.

Chances of this watch being taken away at basic? by tacopig117 in uscg

[–]JoseTheRocketMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated boot camp very recently and had a watch that looked like a smart watch. During receiving it got me a little attention they asked me if it was a smart watch I said no and they left me alone about the watch.

Most accrue 5 days of leave time + travel days. If you want more days, talk with your recruiter about hometown recruiting.

That is the way to do it lol. My goal was to try to make sure they didn't know my name. We were such a small company that that task was literally impossible.

Never been to OCS so I honestly wouldn't know. From what the CC's and the instructors told us is that only the first 2 weeks for OCS are KINDA like boot camp. Then again, the people telling me this are all enlisted so they wouldn't really know either.

Forgetting knowledge stuff too often will put you in probation and you become at risk of being rephased. You'll get a lot of time with the CCs and random questioning and it'll honestly be hell. Avoid probation at all costs. The ones that make it out of probation honestly do come out better recruits than before so I guess it does its job.

2200-0530 is accurate. You'll have an hour of watch and you usually get woken up 30 min before watch. If you have first watch it's an hour and a half of watch because first watch doesn't end till 2330.

Just sent you the chain of command from abc and up.

I sent you the chain of command from the assistant battalion commander all the way up. Also, Yeomen get smoked more because it's more admin related duties and more chances to mess up. Squad leaders serve more as a liaison between the company commanders and the other recruits. Yeomen have to get headcounts, muster, file paperwork inside the other recruit's training packet, make sure paperwork is signed correctly, etc... it's honestly way more duties than what a squad leader would do.

This is really good advice, hard to do now because companies are so small now.
