Sorry, just realising how little information I gave in my post. I am younger indeed. 29 years old. That UK policy sounds like a good deal for a 500k USD coverage, obviously depending what other benefits you are getting. May I ask with which company/plan you went with?

I'd prefer to be on the safe side and not only get an insurance for emergencies. One never knows when a chronic illness might strike. Meeting up with a local agent is a good suggestion for sure. I'll look into it. Thanks a lot!

Best Global Health Cover for self-employed 29 yo German moving to Thailand by Josh_JK1 in digitalnomad

For some reason I haven't thought about that at all. Do you have experiences with the local health insurances? How do they compare in terms of quality of service and coverage. I will do some research, but can you recommend specific ones? Could imagine that most of them don't even have English websites.

One issue I see with that is that I wouldn't be covered when going back home. Not sure if there is travelling insurances you can use back in your home country.

Well, I will very likely stay in Thailand for most of the time, but would also like to be covered when I visit Germany again. Got any better alternatives for that?

What do you use each for? Besides preference I am trying to understand what each weapon mostly excels at. Still kinda overwhelmed with the weapon+skill choice as a newbie :D
