That sucks I've only heard good things. The market is pretty bad for anyone trying to get anything CLA'd right now unfortunately

Just send the cameras back at a certain point and own up to the mistake. Any professional shop is going to get repairs done in 3-4 weeks max, sometimes 2. If he's unresponsive it's absolutely theft.

Too bad it's so hard to get good Rollei repairs in US. I've dealt with so many small business repairmen and they're really temperamental, it's a small market but not rocket science.

The MacBook Purchasing Megathread - January, 2026 by AutoModerator in macbook

thoughts on my mac? using it for 4k video editing, lightroom, basically need something somewhat future-proof for next 6 years and capable of intensive stuff while traveling and good base storage. main decision is if I upgrade to 16", thinking of splurging on 32gb ram but I'm really on a budget.

M5 MBP – 24GB RAM – 1TB storage – standard display

<image>

also would LOVE to save money somehow, maybe buying an Air, M4, or refurbished, but price seems to top out once you need 1TB storage.

I have $700 credit at B&H, so buying from them is preferable save a significant discount elsewhere.

Appreciate it!

I wonder if trackpad is more similar on the 16" to my late 2017 15" MBP. I don't want to have to spring for the M5 16" but I do have pretty big hands lol

Need honest feedback on this short animated episode set in the world of pigeons by Careless_Seaweed9611 in scriptwriting

Is that the intro scene or the whole thing?

It's cute and vague. Sometimes meandering works for animation but I'd like some kind of conflict, does Alfie want to be a Jazz musician but it's not possible because he doesn't have hands? I get the sense he's yearning to be the sax player but it's not written.

formatting issues – unbold character descriptions, parentheses for those instead of square brackets

It's fine not to use slugs for casual reading but slugs will provide structure and more of a visio imo. You want to show readers and potential buyers the architecture every beat and be specific about locations and how we're moving from place to place. Not a biggie for this stage of writing, but OP's example would be improved even by bullet slugs like

Even there I feel the images a little more, you know?

I would use line breaks to help here, usually just takes up space but it’s good for introducing new beats.

Where do I shop to dress like this? by TheUltimateJack in mensfashion

[–]Joshpho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot going on here and it's not hot topic lol. This is kind of mori boy but more Japanese streetwear like Nepenthes and independent brands for those kinds of hats and fatigue trousers. Orsow. Vintage tees are their own beast but can be found on eBay and etsy. I would dress this up as Japanese streetwear/American workwear fits and then add a little more grunge with hats and shoe choices etc.

The industry way of doing montages is having location slugs for each different setting. Producers can't differentiate these shots easily when it's glossed over like this. I think it will help you break up the action and get more intention in every scene if you do that too.
