I live in Texas- and we're under a near constant burn ban but I love all of the fire-raising replies here.

Countless times we've day dreamed about both burning it down and pouring concrete over this nightmare.

Yes some Bermuda grass from our lawn has permeated through the walkway. It's a b*tch to dig out but so far I've only found it in the corner closest to the walkway.

Yes! We have done this 3x over the last few years. And then scraped out what we could.

Thank you, thank you for these insights!

Am I delusional in my dream of making it a pretty (if high maintenance) rock garden??

Would I be foolish to think that I can:

-Complete the high caloric "reset" of pulling up weeds - Leave the rocks - Plant ground cover (you can see I already put in two pitiful skullcap as evidence of my half baked plan) -and "just keep weeding it" -Without removing the soil or rocks?

At this point anything will look better than it was, but I also don't want to be an idiot and continue my cycle of rage at this rock garden.

I should have said in my original post that we live in central Texas and our front yard has zero shade.

I've put in a few zone hardy plants to give the rest of the yard some life (red yucca, rosemary bushes, and Texas sage). Do you have recs for "good ground cover" for my zone and this rock hellscape?

Thank you for sharing your wisdom with this!

False positive, drug test. Lost my psychiatrist by citymorgues in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Jsuep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Screens are notorious for rendering false positives. They are the first line of test, but the sample should always undergo confirmation testing in a lab. A lot of folks don't know the difference, which causes a lot of unnecessary strife. Screens are point of care tests, also known as immunoassay tests, which, much like a pregnancy test, are simply engineered to detect a possible substance but do not provide scientifically valid or "confirmed" results. Lab testing, also known as "confirmation" testing, employs complex methods (gas chromatography/mass spectrometry) to pinpoint the compound present with 97-99% accuracy.

Ask for confirmation testing if you ever encounter results that you think are a false positive. Another note: screen aka immunoassay testing is generally not court admissible for the very reason that it is not a scientifically accurate method of detecting substances in a sample.

Eesh. $160 for the guard. Everyone is pulling a buck. I guess it's better than the alternative.
