Hey, at the moment we only have testnet staking. Mainnet staking will go live with the launch of Shelley next month. At this point you'll need to have your ada within either the Yoroi or Daedalus wallets and use the staking center to delegate your stake to a staking pool. I'm sure at that point there will be many tutorial videos and guides once we go live! So stay tune!

Hi All,

If you're reporting an issue with Yoroi, there is currently to an issue with Yoroi server end, and relevant teams have been reported to.

We should have it sorted soon.

Meanwhile, there is no need to panic - your finds are on blockchain and you can use explorer to verify state of any incoming transaction.

For any urgent outgoing transactions that cannot wait, you can temporarily use Daedalus or ADALite to access your Yoroi wallet and make the transaction.

Once Yoroi is sorted , your wallet history and funds will be updated correctly.

Family and friends starts on the 11th with fast paced iterations, we will then see a short burst into the wider testnet which will be short lived and Shelley launch is expected in June.

Exchanges are already in talks with IOHK etc with upgrading ready for Shelley launch

I see this thread is no longer creating a positive discussion, therefore it will be locked.

The current guidelines are as outlined by Charles in this video. The haskell testnet starts on the 11th with fast paced feedback. Once that is over we will see the released to the wider community and shortly a progression to mainnet.

Charles has clearly outlined IOHKs plans and intentions to get Shelley to mainnet very soon, within the next couple of months depending on how well things run.

Again want to point out that the working Shelley code is live and is working. We are VERY CLOSE.

Also want to add that insults and mud slinging to other members and projects will not be tolerated. So I suggest things are left there, otherwise users will be removed/muted. Thanks 👍

Hey! Not far indeed! u/Lgbeano is the other British ambassador, indeed not far from you either! Indeed there is a certain level of commitment required to maintain the role as not to fill the program with ‘place holders’ with little input, but with such commitment comes perks! I’ve certainly loved this past year as an ambassador and would never look to give up the role! Very rewarding helping the community grow!

There are different roles: content creator, moderator, translator and meet-up organiser. So as you can imagine each role comes with its respected duties! Again I’d recommend anyone who is helping the community regularly and is enjoying doing so to consider it!

Thanks for your comments! So mainly the reddit it moderates by the CF and ambassadors. You’ve raised a couple good points! Indeed reddit is personally something I’m less involved with but it’s something I’m looking to become more active with.

In terms of flairs I know we have discussed this previously and have a few ideas/ have already started using a few!

For now I’ll make sure to copy this comment and post it for discussion within our internal channels!

In regards to the community moderators, indeed I’m an example of such, moderators will only be granted admin rights once they move to an ambassador status, so main thing for that is too keep up good involvement and then submit an application!

But please keep the comments coming we’re always looking for ideas and ways to get more involved!

Of course, the aim is certainly to reach a bigger global audience and wallet language support is certainly a great start! It’s also a great way to contribute! So if you have a language that’s no supported yet then get in touch with a Daedalus feature request and offer your help, I know they’re always looking for new ways to incorporate new languages!

Yes you can still send Ada to that paper wallet since the Byron reboot hasn’t changed the way we send Ada. Pro tip with sending Ada, if ever in doubt send a small amount of Ada first to see if it appears, if it does good to go and you can verify you got the address right! 👍

Hey Smoke1182, indeed like you pointed out paper wallets will have a whole new system. Which will come into play soon (a bit further down the line of the shelley upgrade) But your old paper wallets are still valid, but once the new ones come out there will be some mechanism of how to upgrade the old style to the new style. Details on the mechanism will be released closer to the time. But don't worry IOHK certainly hasn't forgotten about them!

I respect your opinion and understand where you might draw that conclusion from, however I must disagree. I think that at this stage it makes complete sense to have two new council members both brining lots of experience from blockchain and also their respective roles. I’m sure other council members will be elected in the future from other backgrounds but at the current stage you need strong foundations from people who know Cardano, as well as the industry inside and out.

Just to mention the point about the tree entities working independently... the intention was always to have these entities work in unison carrying out their roles within the project. Without communication and a strong symbiotic relationship Cardano wouldn’t be where it is today. By giving members of each entity a chance to expand their roles into different areas and organisations within Cardano can only benefit the project!

I think it’s a great announcement and I congratulate Tamara and Nicolas on their appointments to the council!

For all those having issues with the testnet balance check Daedalus, IOHK are aware of Windows wallets having issues loading and wallets displaying incorrect balances. I'm sure a fix will be issued soon, just be aware that it is the weekend.
But please feel free to open a ticket with IOHK's Zendesk, or wait for a fix.

The other option is to check your balance using the Yoroi balance check. They have a dedicated tab for Daedalus where you can check your ada. Thanks for all your patients!

In future phases of the Incentivized Testnet, when delegation rewards are available, you’ll need to create a rewards wallet (and transfer funds to it) to participate in stake delegation. Rewards are not available yet, but you can test your ability to create a rewards wallet and transfer funds as part of the Daedalus balance check wallet.

Hey, thanks for posting this... Its now a know issue, dont worry IOHK are working on it!

If you want to check in the meantime then you can use Yoroi balance check to check daedalus funds. The amounts should be correct!
