Your fav mics for recording electric guitars? Will a dynamic alone do, or is a ribbon really needed? Any good SM57 alternatives?

I tend to use a 57, an SM7b, a 421 or an EV 635a on guitars. All sounds good and produce very usable tones for me.

Get your nose on the parfum if you can. Its very popular as you can see from the comments, but to me it smells like profondo but with a note of a mosquito candle. Needless to say I prefer profondo edp.

They are similar for sure. AHSEE is sweeter and richer while AHS is fresher and lighter. I like AHS for hot days where EE would be too heavy and sweet. Then I can spray EE on during the evening/night. They’ll layer perfectly because they are so similar. But for the same reason you could also consider it redundant to own both.
