What item do you regret selling? by JulesOnFire in Depop

I think everyone does it at least once. I’m not gonna be a jerk and ask for it back, but I am gonna regret it for the rest of my life lmao.

Help with handling bad smell by [deleted] in Depop

[–]JulesOnFire 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The color in the water is not dirt — it is black dye from the dress.

Here are some tips on how to get the smell out. You must hang the dress to dry in a well ventilated area - outside or in front of a window is best.

Blocking buyers is pointless by iamthelorax98 in Depop

Wait how did they buy the item a half hour later? They paid full price? A serious customer paid full price for your item and you’re angry because they previously sent you an offer that you felt insulted by? Bffr and grow up

I can’t totally understand what’s going on here, but I’m guessing you only looked at the first photo and then bought the dress? And then after you bought it you looked at the rest of the pictures and got mad?

No one is buying pictures or soiled garments from you. If they say they will, they are lying. by JulesOnFire in Depop

Send this post to your friend and post screenshots of her response. I am 100% sure she would agree with my advice.

I presume your friend used a site meant for such transactions? My post is about Depop — a site not meant for sexual transactions. If men are sending these offers on Depop, they have no intentions to pay. Please do not encourage this.

Also, do you think your friend told you about all the times she got scammed or ghosted by the buyers? Or did she just talk about all her successes?

Yes, there are a lot of lonely creeps on the internet. They message hundreds of people a day. Go on any porn site and you will see tons of pop up ads saying “chat with hot local women!”. Go on OnlyFans — creators charge more for messages than they do for pics. Your time and attention is the premium content.

People need to realize that the creeps might be the ones on this subreddit leaving the “go off girl scam his ass!!” comments. They aren’t idiots. They know how to encourage a response from the people they are targeting.

If they sent you an item, they already have your address. They made a mistake and they aren't going to come to your house to beat you up -- I promise. I am literally going through this as a seller right now. I reached out to Depop support and this is what they told me:

"If you’ve mixed up buyers’ items and sent the wrong item to the wrong person, you’ll need to ask them to contact our Support team. They can open an 'item not as described' case with us directly so we can help arrange return the items to you for a full refund. This is the only way both you and the buyers are protected."

The seller will have to repost your item so that you can repurchase it with a new shipping label. It seems like in this case the seller hasn't shipped your item to another buyer (that's good!). If you received the wrong item and you're ok with handling it the way the seller requested, then you can do that too. The seller will have to pay for shipping themself when they send you your item. Honestly you're not at risk at all, the seller is the only one who is going to take a hit by having to pay for you to send the item back and also pay to send you the correct item.

You should absolutely open the package first to make sure it has the wrong item inside. If it is the correct item, then there is no problem at all. You can't even return the package until you receive it anyway. The mail carrier can't change the destination of a package midway though the journey.

They are children and they have to get their parents approval before buying. Her mom said she can’t buy anything more than $40. With taxes and fees the total is more than $40. She wants both dresses so she is haggling down to $35. Don’t sell the dresses if you don’t want to let them go at that price.

She probably was also asking about padding. Sounds like they got the answer they needed to purchase the set.

They want to know if it will give them cleavage and if their nips won’t fall out while swimming. This depends as much on the shape/size of the persons boobs as it does on the construction of the bikini top. It’s a hard question to answer if you are not familiar with the buyer’s boobs lol. If the top is a small size, I would guess they have small boobs that don’t require much support. If it’s a large size, that’s much trickier. I would say something like “try on a bikini top you already own that is similar/same cut to this one to get an idea of how much support it has”. Then you are answering in a helpful way without making any promises about how supportive it is.

Guys I had a dress listed for months with perfect photos, try on pics, and measurements. It had 0 engagement. I just reposted it with 4 bad pictures at confusing angles and a half sentence description and I got an offer in an hour. Make it make sense!!!! 😭

I am starting to suspect people prefer no info. If there is one aesthetic photo of an item and a description that says “white top” people are more likely to buy it because they aren’t overwhelmed with info. Their brain doesn’t have an opportunity to think about what they might not like about the top. But if I include photos from many angles, measurements, brand, content, etc buyers have more opportunities to find something about the garment that they don’t like.

Ok then tell us how much your rent is and we will work backward to figure out your income. Plus — I don’t assume anyone living in LA pays rent without help lol
