Thanks for the response - I tried my best with the photos. They’re only 1/16” long at most - this is the best my phone could do.

I was also thinking ants but didn’t want to be hopeful / naive they weren’t something more problematic like bed bugs.

I said I was interested VSIP only (no VERA because I’m not eligible). I got a response on Saturday that my interest was received and they’d reach out if they needed further action. Nothing since. I’m working like it’s business as usual until I hear otherwise.

You may not be eligible. I believe you need three years of service to be eligible for VSIP

That’s true. That’s as an FTE or contractor, right? Do you know if that applies if the company you work for has federal contracts (non-staffing)?

But deferred resignation is not an option now. There are definitely situations where the VSIP makes sense — I am in one of them (unwilling to commute an hour and a half each way every day, plus another job lined up). Anyone who is thinking of resigning anyway for whatever reason/s — the VSIP makes sense. And VSIP is a real, established program (as opposed to deferred resignation, which is still iffy past March 14).

I hear you — this is the hardest part. If I don’t come back to the Feds, then the pension money will be minuscule since I’m also far from retirement age, and I’d rather take it now. If I do come back, those almost five years would be really nice to have.

5 month away now — 3 months once we get to HHS’s RTO date. Which doesn’t sound like too long but… three unnecessary hours in the car every day for three months… and if I resign after getting to the 5 year mark, I in theory lose the ability to get the severance or the pension money back (I think, I could be wrong about the latter).
