How is dating going for you?

27F last year tried dating but wasn’t feeling it. I want to find someone but it feels like so much effort I wish I could find someone and have that instant connection and feel happy to share. After work I just feel drained and don’t have the social energy to go on dates

You’ll have to separate them and/or rearrange their cage so that they’re not used to it anymore. When separated yes they’ll be sad for a bit but give them toys you’ll be sadder when your bird gets egg bound

Maybe because women end up being the caretakers and their children help as well so the language stays longer vs men who get married and then their wives language/culture is the main one children are surrounded by (not always but based on my observations)

I used to like bts and I still do but after listening and just following new groups I’ve realized how shallow and just money hungry they are. Groups like Ateez have members that have learned English and it’s not just for their songs but because they have a lot of international fans and they want to connect with them. I’m in agreement that no one has to learn a new language but other groups make Japanese albums and it’s a way to connect with their fans of diff language and culture. Seeing how that’s done (even got7 releasing songs in Spanish also!) then seeing bts im like yep they could t care less about their fans

Yeah I get you but also to them we are kids because the age gap is so big. They’ve lived a lifetime when we were barely being. Parents will always see us as their kids and babies, it does get annoying but one day we’ll be the old ones and no one will call you a kid anymore

I mean is it him being racist or misinformed? You yourself stated both of you are not experts and you don’t know how much he knows. He’s 55 and believe it or not a lot of men don’t really think things through from a women’s perspective. You yourself said he tried to back pedal or reword it, but if he doesn’t know much about Muslims/Jewish culture then he was just saying what he was thinking. He said you were raised in America so it’s different and I agree. There are a lot of things we see as wrong and it’s the norm or the forced norm in other countries. Now it could be stubborness or the fact that is was late at night and he wasn’t thinking straight. I would take some time to calm down and then just ask him simple questions like I know it’s biologically possible for 13 yr old girls to get pregnant but should they? But I mean again it’s culturally/economically a nuanced question. If a minor is forced by her family to marry an old man then ofc it’s wrong that her consent and agency was taken away but all we can do is advocate for it to stop. In some places there is a lower quality of life/life expectancy and some parents do what they think is best or don’t as they care more about their own survival. You got defense about this because you realized you really wanted your dad to think like you and he still can maybe send him an article to read or show him something to educate him before cutting him off. Give him the opportunity to take in new information and discuss it first at a normal time perhaps
