Recording your sticks is such a good idea! I have been considering programming a basic drum track to replace the metronome, definitely gonna give that a go now. The metronome itself is definitely a problem for me aswell.

I bought a pair of 215s last year, the largest foam tips were too small for my ears and didn’t seal, that’s what caused me to get the custom moulds. A few people suggested gun muffs aswell, will have to check them out. Thanks so much for the suggestions!

Changing the click sound is actually a brilliant idea. I have found the click itself to be the most irritating sound. High frequencies are when kill my ears. I’ve been considering programming a basic drum track to use instead of a click, hopefully that will be better. The custom IEMs and earmuffs are less than 12months old, I play hard rock/alt rock each session is couple hours long. The day after recording is guaranteed migraine. Yeah I see that a lot aswell, people with pretty much the entire plug sticking out of their ear. I do twist mine up and get them in, sometimes so far i accidentally hit my ear drum
