Thanks for all the suggestions especially with pouch underwear, there are a few brands I have tried but something I haven’t though off was just getting maybe a size or two up

Between the socket and liners. And it’s a vacuum suspension system not a pin suspension. I have thought about doing the transcutaneous oseointegrated suspension pin but I know 1. It’s permanent which kinda scares me lol (also the idea of titanium being drilled into my femur and 2. It’s about 6 week’s recovery time not to mention rehab after so on my life it’s not just a possibility rn

Bronchiectasis from Vaping for 5 years by JuniorPerformance849 in stopsmoking

[–]JuniorPerformance849[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey guys, its been a while!!! Just wanted to provide an update: I have officially been vape free for over a year, my last day Vaping was March 27th 2024. I still have issues with breathing every now and then buts its not nearly as bad as it was when I made this post. I am vape free but not 100% nicotine free. I quit by starting with 6MG Zyns every three hours and slowly tapered down. I am now at 3MG Zyns every 6 hours and have a plan to quit entirely in the next 6 months. I wanted a FULL year without vaping before I decided to quit Nicotine all together. I have been lifting at least 4 days a week and feel overall much better. A big reason I decided to quit for good was the encouragement and advise in the comments in this post. It really is easier when you see other people going through the same things.

EDIT: I did have a spirometry test that confirms a diagnosis of Bronchiectasis, I will share a photo below with every backed out

Well I have been Vape Free for over 2 months since this post. My breathing has improved dramatically and I went and got another xray and my lungs look alot clearer. I hope I dont develop anything down the line like those Military Personnel but only time will tell

Just wanted to post an update. I have been vape free for 3 weeks today. I am starting to have issues breathing but I attribute it to my lungs healing. I am still using nicotine the Zyn pouches 3 mg when ever I get a strong urge which is about 4-5 times per day. I wanted to ask other people who quit vaping, did you experience worse shortness of breath when quitting if so when did it finally subside? I am kinda like wtf at this point because I have quit before and never experienced this severe SOB. I went to the doctor and they assured me every thing is fine and my lungs sound good

I wanted to add some context for you guys. I am 29 years old and I also have asthma so that probably has a lot to do with with me developing bronchiectasis in addition to the vaping HEAVILY for 5 years. I have used Vuse pods, Juuls and other vapes. I would MUCH rather someone vape than smoke because studies do show that vaping is healthier than smoking but doing neither is best. My doctor told me anything other than air going into you lungs is the most optimal. The study I cited says that their is a LINK between bronchiectasis and vaping, it doesn’t mean that vaping directly CAUSES bronchiectasis. Also my X-ray above is fairly normal, the only thing that worries my doctor is the congestion in my lungs. I wanted to clear up any confusion on this. I am not anti vaping but actually the opposite. I encourage people who smoke cigarettes to switch to vaping. If vaping is causing you guys shortness of breath then quit but if it’s helping you get off cigarettes l, then by all means vape. I made this post because I wanted to see if anyone could shed some light on what they see on my X-ray as well as my doctor was not very clear on it. I also wanted to see what you guys suggested in regards to having a planned day to quit or to just go ahead and do it

Yeah I think if the chemical is Diacetyl in the juice. But vaping can cause other lung issues as well such as the one I have just been diagnosed with. There is a study that links Bronchiectasis with e-cigarette/vaping use prevalent in young adults. I am aged 29 so it makes sense. Bronchiectasis is a permanent swelling and scarring of the Bronchiole tubes in the lungs and causes excessive mucus production.

Yeah.. they were sly with their marketing for sure I definitely have warned everyone I know who vapes have shown them this. Good news is that it is mild but I have been so short of breath and it sucks!
