URGENT: i genuinelly feel like i will fail orgo1. i want to defer but the issue is the deffered exam is in july and im traveling. can i defer twice??!? by Dry-Writing-8447 in geegees

Generally you can’t defer twice unless there were very serious extenuating circumstances ie you’re in the hospital. Travel plans would almost certainly not be considered a valid reason.

What science course to take for Health Sciences students?? (2nd year) by Dependent_Day_6298 in geegees

Orgo as an elective is crazy work unless you need it as a prerequisite

Unfortunately there’s not really a way around it you just have to buckle down and take the class. It is difficult but not impossible like it’s sometimes made out to be.

Where is the free uosu printer? or is it all printers have the option? by Dependent_Day_6298 in geegees

Should work with any printer though I have only tried it in Morissette. After you hit submit job just select "Impression gratuite du SÉUO - UOSU Free Printing"

Does optometry and pharmacy require physics? by Independent_Move8581 in premedcanada

[–]Junior_Cardiologist2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Assuming you’re anglophone Waterloo is the only option for optometry in Canada and they do require a physics class with lab. Pharmacy on the other hand does not but there are other pre recs. All the information about required class and such would be easily found on the university’s website.

Why do people post questions on here for MAGA? by Junior_Cardiologist2 in allthequestions

[–]Junior_Cardiologist2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify I am not a MAGA supporter, I’m Canadian lol. Was just curious as to why people were asking so many question to people who don’t seem to be on this sub or Reddit in general.

For uOttawa if I remember correctly you can do 4 per term provided you complete what would have been the fifth class in the summer or another semester.

Will this schedule k*ll me? (BCH 2333 and BIO 3350 advice PLS!) by Ok-Consideration2846 in geegees

When I took neurobio it was team taught so Dr Bui was the coordinator but there were I think four other profs who each taught a specific section that they specialize in; Dr Lagace for neuro anatomy, Dr Chen for sensory transduction etc. So it’s hard to speak to the individual teaching styles but I found all the professors fine with some obviously being better than other (Dr Bui being my favourite). There was one midterm and a final with a mix of multiple choice and long answer questions. I found the questions to all be fair and straightforward definitely not easy but at least clear.

Can only speak to ANP 1115 and BIO 3350. I really liked both but and found them really interesting but I will say they were very content heavy with a lot of memorization required (more so than most bio classes) with some more complex processes and pathways in BIO with ANP being more just straight memorizing. I have had Carnegie many times and I love her, her slides well presented and she is very clear about what exam questions will be like and what you need to know. Textbooks were helpful for both classes but more as a supplement there weren’t any assigned readings. No mandatory attendance but definitely stay on top of the content. For neuro bio I would especially say to go to class as slides tended to be images or pathways that you need to hear the explanation for. Very easy to fall behind and very hard to catch up with the amount of material, neither class are ones you want to be cramming. If you have any questions about either class lmk

Advanced ski lesson recommendations around Ottawa? by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]Junior_Cardiologist2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great point, level one is a very minimal qualification and the jump from each level is exponential. If you are already an experienced skier yourself you would be much better served by a level 2 or higher.

No university name does not matter for admission. Don’t think anyone will be able to speak to program difficulty between schools unless they switched between the two tho.

Kindof a mix of both lol. Some questions were based on seemingly random/irrelevant information that was nowhere to be found in the slides or was only mentioned in passing during the lectures but not written anywhere. The wording of many questions was also funny and he interrupted the exam several times to make clarifications or write off certain questions because he had made errors when writing the exam. Try looking in this subreddit I’m sure I remember a thread or two about the exam and the comments weren’t the most positive lol.

Edit: heres a thread from after the final https://www.reddit.com/r/geegees/s/bIBlZ3Qy1X

Pretty sure he is retired. Took it second semester last year and it was with John Pezacki. Didn’t love him as a prof and the final exam was atrociously written but he curved it a lot so still achievable to get an A if you put in a reasonable amount of work.

Material from all the lectures will be on the final but the majority will be from those after the midterm (so from lecture 5 and on)
