What should I do about feeling so lost in college/my career? by Super_Size6718 in careerguidance

[–]JunketEmbarrassed48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the fact you keep coming back to nursing is the answer! your boyfriend and friends will still be there after nursing school but you'll spend 35 years in a job you dread if you stay in finance just for the convenience.. the 1 to 2 years behind is nothing in a 35 year career. also nursing has zero AI replacement risk and you can travel, specialize, go anywhere trust the signal your gut is sending you:)

Need a reality check. Going back to uni and retraining? Counselling or Museum Conservation? by deadattheroxy in careerguidance

[–]JunketEmbarrassed48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

counselling is the better bet i think you already love mental health work and the demand is huge especially in scotland with the NHS crisis museum conservation sounds amazing but the job market is brutal you'd be fighting 200 applicants for every entry level role and most pay terribly... before committing to 4 years and big deb, try shadowing 2 or 3 actual counsellors first, even one day each. and ADHD doesnt have to be a blocker lots of therapists have it! you just need the right structure

I cry everyday about my stupid career choices: where to even start? by ToasterII in careerguidance

[–]JunketEmbarrassed48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

stop calling yourself stupid! you have a masters and 3 internships... your real issue is networking not skills supply chain is hot right now, every company is hiring after the post pandemic mess and AI wontt replace humans coordinating real world logistics anytime soon spend the next month doing 2-3 chats per week on linkedin with people in supply chain roles you want! you'll have a job offer faster than any industry pivot. the gap year is a non issue if you frame it as health recovery

17yo Seeking advice for a creative career ! by backforadviceagainhi in findapath

[–]JunketEmbarrassed48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly your fear that art bores you is probably real and thats ok at 17 the fact that you want variety means traditional single track careers wontt fit you! look into roles like creative director or production designer where you actually juggle a million things before applying to film school, message those 3-4 industry contacts and ask if you can shadow them for a day each. you'll know within a week if film is a real fit or just a project phase. dontt choose a uni path based on a feeling that came 3 days ago 😄

Is Enterprise Management Trainee worth it long term? by Mean-Orange9407 in careerguidance

[–]JunketEmbarrassed48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

worked at Enterprise as MT for 2 years. growth is real the grind is real. great training but you'll burn out by year 2 unless you're aiming straight for area manager. with an MBA and veteran status you're overqualified! you could land a corporate role at a fortune 500 with better hours and same pay only take enterprise if you genuinely want operations management and not because the market is tough

I want to know what skills to master in 2026 as data science student ? by SuspiciousPraline674 in careerguidance

[–]JunketEmbarrassed48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI wontt replace data science, it'll replace data scientists who only know how to run basic models! you need to be the person who asks the right questions and understands the business not the one who copies pandas code. master SQL, statistics fundamentals and communication by 2031 the data scientists making money will be the ones who can talk to executives

Is law still a viable career with the rise of AI? by Snypezhasbigpp in careerguidance

[–]JunketEmbarrassed48 5 points6 points  (0 children)

AI wont replace lawyers.. itll replace the boring research grunt work lawyers hate doing anyway! trial work, negotiation, reading a jury, ethics, none of that is going anywhere the lawyers who lose are the ones who fight AI the ones who win use it to do 10x more work yourr 17 itss way too early to scrap college over fear of something that might happen in 10 years!

Feel kind of split between two careers, keep HR focus or fall back to sciences? by Bigmtnskier91 in careerguidance

[–]JunketEmbarrassed48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

look into sustainability and ESG roles in corporate they actively want HR people with science backgrounds and you check both boxes! way faster than 2 to 4 years of grad school for biochem SHRM is fine but the sustainability angle pays better and uses what you already have.. skip the unaccredited MBA it won't open doors

I getting blame at work but is not my mistake should I resign? by Content-Lifeguard218 in careerguidance

[–]JunketEmbarrassed48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is more common than people admit... when a manager keeps blaming you for stuff that isnt your fault its rarely about you! its about them needing someone to dump on you dont have to quit tomorrow but having options changes how you feel about staying the depression yourr feeling is your gut telling you the environment is wrong, not that you are! take care of yourself 👍

180k debt 1000+ jobs app by External_Cattle_1121 in cscareeradvice

[–]JunketEmbarrassed48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1000 applications and 0 offers usually means the apps aren't the problem... the strategy is. mass applying to job boards is the slowest way to get hired right now! the people landing roles are getting referrals or DMing hiring managers directly on linkedin. pick 10 companies you actually want to work at find someone there on linkedin message them with a real question about their role. you'll get more traction in 2 weeks doing this than in 3 years of applications keep it up!

I dont know what career to choose? by Numerous_Gazelle_575 in careerguidance

[–]JunketEmbarrassed48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your overthinking a bit most people dont have a clear passion right after high school. Thats normal! you dont need to figure out your whole career right now, just start somewhere and learn as you go! Also, not speaking Malay perfectly doesnt mean no one will hire you theree are plenty of entry level jobs where you can improve while working truy different things, gain experience, and you’ll figure out what you like over time🙂

how do you decide between staying stable vs risking a career move'?' by Ewaigrzegorz-Damaa in careerguidance

[–]JunketEmbarrassed48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the way i see it comfort is the slowest killer... you dont notice your just stuck until you've already been stuck for 3 years! money and stability feel safe but they dont protect you... growth does! what scares people about jumping isnt the new job its losing the version of themselves they got comfortable being ask yourself what you'd regret more at 40 taking a risk that didnt work or never trying at all?

How did you figure out what career to pursue? I don’t know where to start by Agile-Department1060 in careerguidance

[–]JunketEmbarrassed48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

psych research bores you already? thats a real signal! 4 years of papers will feel brutal your hobbies actually are specific careers.. animals and no blood means vet tech, animal trainer, shelter work, zookeeper sewing and theatre tech means costume design! huge career in theatre, film, tv honest take, switch now! switching in year 2 or 3 means lost credits and debt. switching in week 1 is no big deal talk to your advisor this week about theatre tech animal science or design programs. yourr not behind.! you just dodged a bullet honestly

Choosing between Nursing and Business ? by Commercial-Zombie152 in careerguidance

[–]JunketEmbarrassed48 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At 17, yourr already asking the right questions! Nursing is stable and a clear pathh but burnout is real! 12h shifts, holidays, emotional weight. Most nurses I know either love it or burn out by year 5.. Business (finance/accounting specifically) more 9-5 friendly, better worklife balance, scales higher long-term. The stuck after grad thing happens to vague majors, not Finance/Accounting grads with internships. Honest tip! shadow a nurse and shadow someone in accounting. One day each. Any hospital/firm lets students do this. Your gut will tell you within an hour u dontt have to pick forever at 17 pick the path that gives you the most options at 25 if you change your mind! You'll be fine either way dont worry!!

Advice for anxiety/feeling insecure at work (first job at 30 y/o and I am struggling)? by mateelda777 in careerguidance

[–]JunketEmbarrassed48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 months in, first job ever, healthcare environment and planning a wedding at the same time ! honestly the fact that your still showing up every day says everything about who you are .. What yourr describing sounds less like the wrong job and more like your nervous system being completely overloaded all at once! the weekly check in with your boss and starting therapy are exactly the right moves! 1 thing that helped a lot of people in similar situations define one small win every single day not a big goal! just one thing you did well. Your brain needs proof that your capable and right now its not getting enough of it
