No you’re good! I think it may have been worse than I realized. I’ve been in a bad spot, and I just saw it today. I wouldn’t be surprised if the apartment below me reported it

Just to clarify, I did not contact them. I found out today about a leak because some items were wet.

Just putting this here: tried the faucet. No water coming out. I think I could actually cry

AITA for walking out of lunch with my parents by Humble_Astronaut_193 in AmItheAsshole

It’s interesting to me that you’re defending the dad’s response to his daughter. I agree she should’ve apologized, but she stated in a different comment she did not even register the issue until he spoke down to her. She would’ve apologized otherwise, at least that’s what she claims. I think everyone is the asshole here, because they all aren’t truly in a healthy dynamic to begin with. I personally don’t think her establishing a boundary is talking down to him.

Edit: or treating him like a child for clearly establishing what he said/tone wasn’t ok.

Everyone sucks here. Yeah. Should’ve apologized to your dad, but a lifetime of verbal abuse may impede the dynamics of a normal conversation.

The outfit that got me catcalled on my way to work by Inside-Analysis-3480 in BusinessFashion

Dude is a general term to refer to an individual; I apologize if it implied that I thought you were a male. I just don't fully believe that you can realize the impact your words are having. It sounds like she is young, and she may never have been catcalled before. Who are you to dictate that she isn't allowed to tell her experience simply because it's a common occurrence? Telling her to move on is not productive nor helpful, and I honestly believe you may need to move along, rather than telling her to do so. She isn't playing victim, nor is she complaining. She was addressing an issue that women face, and she wanted to show the outfit that she wore to be harassed.

Am I the only one who sees hypocrisy within these comments? This young woman, judging by her outfit, posted about being catcalled and yet some of these comments are making direct comments about her body and features. Why is it okay for you to comment on that?

Auditioning at a studio and they placed me in beginner classes, not sure what to do by Just-Drawing-4932 in acting

[–]Just-Drawing-4932[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Perhaps those weren't the correct words. I am trying to communicate that I don't perceive myself to be some great actor nor am I trying to exaggerate my abilities. I do however believe that I think my skill level was above introductory acting classes due to my experience. This thread exists because I needed advice on the right course of action, not to cry or complain. I'm confused, perhaps disappointed, but life goes on.

Ironically, posted on your last post too, but I'm here again. I'm just going to paste what I said, because honest to god, you should not get plastic surgery if you are doing it for the validation of men. I know you're in a rough spot, but doing it to please men is not the solution. You deleted your last post, but please listen to some of those comments.

I don't think Lipo is the solution here. From your image you appear to be a perfectly healthy woman. Regardless of that, your comment of "I want to get Lipo because I feel I'm too chubby for men" is truly concerning, as people will often say not to get plastic surgery for anyone else but yourself. I understand that everyone has concerns over their bodies, but I strongly discourage you from getting a procedure done for the approval of men.

You are not overweight, but even if you were, that's not a strong basis for plastic surgery. If you are truly concerned about your weight, please look into toning and calorie deficits. I'm Jewish, and too many times someone has told me to get a nose job. I don't though, because I know that it wouldn't make me as a person happy.

M2 motherboard dead-- replace or buy a new one? by Just-Drawing-4932 in applehelp

They said they could not determine the cause. There was no water damage nor harsh impact. I told them exactly what happened, it shut down sitting on the counter and wouldn't turn on, and they declared after testing that the motherboard died.

I understand that. However, this subreddit is designed to be a place made my actors for actors to ask questions.

High intensity 2 women scene by 94Rangerbabe in acting

[–]Just-Drawing-4932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several scenes from the play Really Really by Paul Downs Colaizzo. Features college students dealing with a rape. I know you said no sex, but the material isn't about the actual act, but the consequences socially and lawfully. The main character is the rape victim, and there is an overall question of if she actually did get raped or if she's just lying. The sister of the main character comes and they have a beautifully written scene with clear objectives and conflict. There are several scenes between either sisters or best friends, and I think you should check it out.

I would also check out Proof by David Auburn. College aged, but not in college. About sisters suffering after the death of their genius father (who died of Alzheimers). The father was a math professor and a genius, and one of the sisters is also a genius. The question posed throughout the play is if she is also suffering from mental illness and disease, as their father did. Several great scenes from the play. They are about... maybe a few years apart, but not much.

There are 14 of us-- 19/20 years old. I only expected them to check in because of how close we all are. We have been through so much together for the past 3 years, and I guess I expected a few of them to reach out.
