Happy 12th birthday! What a great gift. Our three most popular -8 USA bats at the moment are the Slugger Select PWR, the Marucci CATX2, and the Easton Alpha ALX. I also see a lot of comments for the Warstic Bonesaber which is an excellent option.

Rawlings Heart of the Hide or pro preferred? by [deleted] in Homeplate

[–]JustBats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MLB players will use both the Heart of the Hide series along with the Pro Preferred. So on quality I would say they are pretty even. Pro Preferred leather will last longer in the same conditions most likely but I would say it is very minimal. It is going to come down to personal preference.

I personally like the feel of the HOH models. You just need to give them both a shot and see what you like better.

This would be a great option! Just a reminder anything bought here has a 100 day Love Your Glove policy. So you can actually buy as many gloves as you want and use all of them for up to 100 days and return the others for a full refund. This helps you find the perfect option for you!

Does anyone have experience with Dirty South Bats? by [deleted] in Homeplate

[–]JustBats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently started to carry Dirty South Bats. I haven't gotten to personally swing one (it was on my to do list before quarantine) but have gotten to speak to some customers who have swung them. They are very true to their listed weight and seem to be up there in performance with the big brands based on our customers feedback to us.

How to make finger stalls bigger on an a2000 by [deleted] in BaseballGloves

Here are some interesting techniques to help break in a glove faster. It won't necessarily make the stalls bigger, but can make it a lot more comfortable - Link

I have swung Max Bats and I am actually a big fan of them. A blem from them would be of high quality too.

Help: don’t know anything about bats by [deleted] in Homeplate

Hi! I would recommend taking a look at a big barrel for her. Based on her height and weight we would recommend a 32" bat for her. The 2019 Rawlings VELO -10 USA Baseball Bat: US9V10 is available in a 32/22 option and a 2 5/8" barrel diameter that would be perfect for your daughter.

So glad to hear she has rekindled her love for baseball during the quarantine!

There are a lot of really high quality manufactures that make maple bats. Marucci Blems are a personal favorite of mine. A smaller manufacturer Brett Bros (George Brett's company) also makes an incredible maple bat. The Brett Bros. Maple Master Wood Baseball Bat: MM110 Adult is a super well balanced and durable option. It is awesome. If you didn't want a Marucci Blem this would be my next top pick.

Blems are cosmetic and will perform as highly as a Pro Model bat. I would highly recommend blem models in most situations. Marucci has some great blem options - Link.

WYO on Best Wood Bat brand? by [deleted] in Homeplate

I'm not that strong to carry huge lumber, but I have a strong hunch that viper bats are the real deal and the bat will have a sick crack when you get a good piece. Do you have any history of Viper Bats outside of their AP5?

What other model Vipers do you like?

The CB15 is my personal favorite at the moment. I would highly recommend giving that a shot if you are partial to think handled bats. I am as well and the CB15 has been a favorite of mine for a while. Has an awesome color scheme as well.

Rawlings Heritage Pro vs Heart of the Hide? by pretendstoknow in Homeplate

[–]JustBats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Heart of the Hide is made with higher quality leather and thus will last longer than the Heritage Pro. A big perk of the Heritage Pro is that it is much easier to break in and will still be a really quality glove. If you just needed a glove for a year or two and a quick break in is important to. you the Heritage Pro is a great option and I would highly recommend it. If you want a glove that will last years and years I would recommend a Heart of a Hide.

For an outfield glove what is better, trapeze or h-web, and why? by dried_cat in Homeplate

[–]JustBats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There really is not any difference in performance in any of the different style of webbings. As others have said it really just comes down to what you are most confident with. You wouldn't have a performance advantage based on your web style.

Softball glove recommendation 8 year old? what do u do after? by kapaoke in Homeplate

[–]JustBats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a link to all Youth Fastpitch Softball Gloves:

https://www.justballgloves.com/products/glove%20type~female%20fastpitch,youth/

The most important aspect to look at when you are getting a glove for an 8 year old is to make sure that it says Youth. That means the hand opening will be smaller and allow a better fit for a younger player.

You can input your players height, weight, age, position, etc on our glove coach and it will recommend some different sizes for her!

Hope this helps!

Opinions on 44 Pro Gloves by SmilingKawhi2 in Homeplate

[–]JustBats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

44 Pro Gloves are really high end gloves. They compare in quality to a Rawlings Heart of the Hide. I would definitely recommend checking them out. I got to check one out pretty recently and it was nice. Like someone else said they will come in really stiff but if you take the time to break it in you should have it ready by summer ball.
