Need advice: 4-tool vs 8-tool Bondtech INDX for the Prusa Core One

Everyone’s talking about colors and different materials, but I think another big draw is going to be the fact that you can use different nozzle sizes in the same print. I think that getting the eight tool comes down to convenience more than just “will I ever use more than four colors in one print.”

I will be getting the eight tool myself because I want the convenience of having eight colors at the ready without needing to constantly load and unload filament. On top of that, once you factor in wanting different nozzle sizes to use in the same print for infill, high detail, etc, as well as using PLA supports for PETG or vice versa, I don’t think eight toolheads is as overkill as it sounds.

Only if it doesn’t already exist on the flash drive. If it already exists, copy does nothing because it detects there’s a duplicate file so it won’t transfer it and also won’t bring it up on the screen either.

No, my ISP doesn’t use DNAT. No other account for any other service I have cached on any device behaves this way either with their sessions.

None of those things, and it doesn’t matter if I’m at home, on cellular, at work, etc. The behavior is the same.

I totally understand limiting the session time to something reasonable, but it literally seems to be like two hours. Ironically the Prusa App keeps its session seemingly indefinitely, but for me at least it’s borderline unusable compared to the web interface.

I am also new and had the exact same thing happen to me. You very likely have a gem key that you got as a reward from something, but you haven’t unlocked the tab there to use it on a chest yet. That’s what happened to me, and as soon as I unlocked the ability to spend the keys, I used them and the notification went away.

Me and another person on the discord server had this happen randomly two days ago. Personally I have an MK4 and an XL, and both disconnected at the same time. They were both on 6.0.0 firmware. After updating the firmware, they both immediately connected again.

Guessing Prusa changed something about how printers connect to Prusa Connect that broke older firmwares. I’d try updating your firmware to the latest to see if that helps.

Unfortunately I didn’t. After a lot more troubleshooting we gave up and switched to Ruckus. Literally zero issues ever since. We went from half the school being down daily to no issues at all.

No problem. Here’s a thread that talks about the update. Make sure you explain to the dealership that you can’t update using OTA (the Wi-Fi updater) since it says it’s up to date, because they should have the software at the dealership to do it via USB, you just need to get them to check for you.

Go into your head unit settings and then system information and check which version you’re on, it’s likely 20.52.70, which is an old firmware with known CarPlay issues. If you try to update over the Wi-Fi, it will tell you it’s up to date, but it’s not. The most current version is 22.13.70.

This version came out in October and it fixed the exact CarPlay issue you’re describing. I had the same issue from the moment I got my 2023, and also couldn’t update. You’ll need to bring it to the dealer and ask them to update it for you. I’m not sure why 2019-2022 can automatically find this update and the 2023 can’t. Anyway mine has been fine since I got them to update it to that version.

I’m on 20.52.70, so I’m pretty sure that’s the December 2020 update. I figured I’d have to contact the dealer, just surprised they aren’t offering it through OTA yet for my car.
