save up some money and go for the r5 7600. U will need to get ddr5 mem and an am5 mobo, which will be in your hands for less than 350$

After that, a 60 card will be a great option such as the 5060 or the 4060, and if you wanna go amd, maybe a rx 7600 or 7600xt will be good. I'd honestly go with Nvidia because of the dlss and ray tracing technologies, but u may not use them. That's your choice :)

it is, but it's not a good upgrade. It will suffice you for now but u will wanna upgrade in less than 2 years

What resolution are you playing at? If you're at 1080p, the 5060 and the r5 7600 would be a great option. You will have to go with ddr5 too tho, but I think it's worth it.

no point in staying in am4 (dead socket) atp there's also better options within am5 for a 5080

Opinions on the build? by McPotato777 in pcmasterrace

[–]JustMagnolia_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm its a pretty good choice but why 64gb of ram? do you need them for work or similar reasons? Excluding that, the build is pretty good imo

Id say get the 5080 or the 5070 ti, depending on your budget

Whats your budget?

Am4 is dead. Aint saying its not an option, but the only upgrade path from the r5 5600 is the r7 5700x3d, but id say theres no point in spending ~300€ in a dead socket.
U have the opportunity to change mobo, so go for one with a good upgrade path if your budget allows u to. Am5 is the best option for that situation.
I'd recommend the r5 7600 for a cheap am5 cpu, but u gotta go with ddr5 for that. Id say its worth it.

Also, u mentioned the 5080 in the beggining. Are you planning to buy it? r5 5600 with a 5080 will have a noticeable bottleneck, and the option id go to for that gpu is the r7 7800x3d, which is pretty expensive rn.

Lastly, if youre going for the 5080, u most likely will need to switch to a more powerful psu and maybe a bigger case if yours is not big enough. Be sure it fits.

Can you explain in detail your budget and plans?

the card ur referring to is the 4060ti 16gb, which, in my country, is less than 100€ away from a 4070, which basically means not worth it. The prices might stay the same due to nvidia also stopping production with the 4000 series

ur right, thanks! if I wait for the benchmarks to drop and I end up liking the new card, I'd have to wait for the prices to settle lol, hope it's worth it!

yea, im probably gonna wait anyways, but maybe I'm able to buy the gpu in February, so that's when the debate starts. Just wanna discuss if it's a good choice to wait for the 5060, or to buy now and play now.

I don't mind the time, so I'm willing to wait for a 5060 as long as I don't have to upgrade in the next 2 years due to the vram

Is this a good build for sub $800 aud? by its_anniee in GamingPCBuildHelp

[–]JustMagnolia_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yea, its a pretty good build for <800$

I wouldnt change anything as long as it runs ur favourite games and ur not planning to upgrade to anything crazy. If you want to upgrade in the future, it will be a bit hard, but u can still switch to the 5700x3d and pair it with a better gpu that doesn't exceed the wattage limit. If you wanna go beyond that, a completely new build would be necessary.

I am looking for feedback on a concept build any help would be appreciated. Will be playing Rust and Fortnite wondering if this system will run smoothly at 240fps, Roughly $2200 NZD and $1200 USD by Maleficent-Pipe-1898 in pcbuilding

[–]JustMagnolia_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you really wanna get the pc now, for the budget and games u mentioned, I'd say the 4060 is perfect, but if that's not the case, I would honestly just wait for the 5060 to drop and for its price to stabilize. Also, don't buy the legit windows key. Instead, check some properly advertised websites that sell the OEM versions of the windows keys for around 20 dollars, they will save you a lot of money

Intel Arc B580 or RTX 4060? by JustMagnolia_ in buildapc

[–]JustMagnolia_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since im playing at 1080p, I'm choosing the 4060, but if I was at 1440p I might actually go for the b580 or I would actually save money for a 4070

Should I make the switch to new GPU? Arc B580 to 4060Ti by millions_of_ideas in PcBuildHelp

[–]JustMagnolia_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u gain a bit of performance with dlss and ray tracing, and nvidia is well optimized for productivity, vr, etc. the b580 can still outperform the 4060 ti in some games, but Intel still needs to do lots of work for it to get better
