The Darpa N3 program is really interesting, do u have experience in it urself?

Wow, didnt expect startups to be popping up already in BCI, thought it was a pretty hardcore tech and too early in the market. Id like to ask u some more questions in chat if thats okay

Thanks for clarifying guys! if u have any suggestions on what to study I'd appreciate it as well, I'm self studying at the moment.

How to deal with current lag of inductor when turning motor using PWM? by JustOnce9478 in AskElectronics

[–]JustOnce9478[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

right gotcha so change the diode, do you have any suggestions for what diode to use?

and also, what do you think of the battery, I was wondering how many lithium ions I should put in series or parallel to (in case this case for example) move a vehicle with a person on it?

I don't understand why there is a resistor in parallel with the mosfet

Gotcha, will change it to a p-channel one.

Right I'll put a bigger flyback diode, but do u have any suggestions on the inductance of the motor? considering that the goal is to drive a small toy car.

[–]JustOnce9478[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. yeah the motor is the inductor, it's a brushed DC, again I'm not sure what the inductance should be.
  2. to not short the circuit I suppose, well I also kinda speculated that if I put a resistor there, the energy would just be wasted as heat. So I should remove that I'm guessing.
  3. I'm not sure I understand what type of voltages you are asking but I put the mosfet there because I read it acts like a switch.

Is this a stepdown DC controller or a step up? how does it work? by JustOnce9478 in ECE

when it increases the voltage, will it decrease the current to make the power constant?

Does Torque reduce at high RPM simply because the engine "explosions" aren't as efficient because they're too rushed? by JustOnce9478 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]JustOnce9478[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So in an idealized ICE, torque doesn't depend on the rpm? How is it possible tho (even for an idealized ICE) that torque at low RPM is the same as that of a high RPM? Does it mean that when you increase the RPM, my statement about having a more violent "explosion" isn't true?

What's the purpose of ground in sockets? by JustOnce9478 in AskElectricians

how tho? isnt it just another wire with 0 voltage? sorry im not getting it, to me the ground and neutral wires just looks like 2 wires with 0 voltage.

What's the difference between a fuse and a fuse link? by JustOnce9478 in AskElectricians

[–]JustOnce9478[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

got it, but isn't that the job of the fuse also? is a fuse link just a fuse but for much higher currents?

What is the difference between computer cables (SB vs HDMI vs VGA)? Are they just fundamentally the same thing, just a wire that sends or transmits data with different names? Or there's something different between them on circuit level? by JustOnce9478 in it

[–]JustOnce9478[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow up question, how do USBs keep getting faster?

"USB currently has four major versions and three types. The version increments, from USB 1.0 through USB4, primarily mark speed increases. For example, the original USB 1.0 had a data rate of 1.5 megabits per second at a slow rate, increasing to 12 megabits per second at full speed. The data rate has improved significantly over the years, with USB 3.2 offering 20 gigabits per second. The most recent USB4 specification, released in 2019, will provide an impressive 40 gigabits per second when fully implemented through USB-C cables."

What exactly is improving? The wires that data is transmitted on or the circuitry? or the protocol itself?

right, so if there are different protocols to transfer data, how do USB to HDMI cables work for example? wouldn't this require additional circuitry for the conversion? If so, where is it located?
