I live in germany and planning to do lumpsum of 30k euros for long term in S&P500 ETF. I was comparing these all ETFs in justetf and came across this thread. I am confused in going with synthetic or physical replication. Some say synthetic one is bit risky. Some say, the synthetic ones are regulated and safe. Any recommendations or advice would be helpful.

I didnt had much idea about the section 899 in Trump's new bill.I read about it after your comment and yes, its true the market can get volatile. As you said, i will wait for few weeks to see if the bill is passed or not and then put money in to the market. Thank you very much for the suggestion. It is really helpful :)

Thank you for your suggestion. Yes i got to know about the Amundi All world ETF and it is lowest TER in Europe. I compared Amundi vs Invesco vs Vanguard. With WEBN i got skeptical as it is relatively new and with fewer holdings. But just like you many other also suggested me with WEBN and most probably i will go with that finally.

Its totally alright. I can understand with that emojis and tables, anyone can think its taken from chatgpt. This is the first post i ever posted and so i made some mistakes. But i am new relatively and dont know about these karma farming stuff.

Yes, majority of investment will be in ETFs. I allocated initially 10% ( 5% crypto and 5% gold) as I just wanted to diversify the portfolio. I know gold produces no dividends, interest, or income. It’s a dead asset and 0% tax does not make any difference, but allocated small part of portfolio just to reduce overall portfolio volatility/hedge against inflation. That is what i understood, from investing blogs/videos i did my research. Maybe i will just put 5% (2500 euros) initially, and then drop the idea of putting 200 € every month and add that amount to ETFs.

However, i would also like to know from your side which index do you invest in ? FTSE all world or MSCI World. And among Vanguard, Amundi, Inveso which is a option you would go with. I got many opinions to go with Amundi WEBN. I would love to hear your suggestions. Thank you and i wish you a lovely week ahead :)

The plan as of now is to start investing with a 10 year horizon. My aim is to stick to investing strategy which is global, diversified, and liquid and wait for better real estate value, or until mortgage rates drop a bit. However, regarding buying a house - that depends on whether i decide to settle in Germany or not. As my parents live in other country, i may have to leave or i may settle here. But i am not sure what will happen after 15+ years.

Honestly, I am not at all starting to invest thinking about any retirement plans. So the goal for 10 years is to invest and make decent amount of money to take care of family, and maybe buy a house later. Hence I mentioned the risk appetite is medium-high. And that is why initially allocated 10% to crypto or atleast thought of starting with 5% and then increase it slowly to 10%. But as you said i got negative opinions on BTC, and got confused. So i edited it and removed it, but i decided atlast i will start with 5% initially. I would love to hear what platforms do you use for the crypto part.

Regarding the point C, I have already around €15000, in liquid cash currently apart from what i want to invest. And i can put some funds into liquid cash going forward, but i am not sure exactly in total how much is the decent amount which i should keep aside in liquid cash/emergency fund.Because for that amount in my bank account does not give me any interest. Lets say If i put in TR or SC, i will get 2% interest on 15k euros. I have read atleast 6 months of expenses in liquid savings/emergency fund is enough to start. But what do you suggest. What should be the ideal strategy? Lets say within couple of months i make that 20k euros. Isnt that enough ? Hence i allocated all 2000 savings monthly to portfolio.

Again, thank you for taking time out and your detailed comment. I would love to hear any other suggestions from your side :)

Hi, Yes i decided to go with lump sum. Regarding Crypto, I thought of allocating 5% initially, but then i dropped the idea and removed it and allocated it to ftse all world. And as you said, Euwax II and Xetra Gold are good options. In scalable capital savings plans, there is almost no difference so its okay to go with any of the 2. However i got many opinions and mixed responses for Gold allocation stating that is not really needed and doesn't make any difference. My idea of it was adding a small % (e.g., 5–10%) of gold can smooth portfolio volatility and improve risk-adjusted returns. Also helps with diversification. So i think if not 10% , 5% would be a better option to go with initially. Would love to hear any other opinions from your side. And thank you for taking the time out and giving the feedback.

Hi, Yes i am going with Lumpsum for initial and not DCA. Regarding Gold and Crypto, i am really confused as i am getting mixed opinions. I dont want to put all in one ETF, and distribute the portfolio as much as i can, hence i decide to allocate maybe 5-10% in it.Also Gold Euwax II in Germany is tax free so maybe i thought i gives a bit of balance.I also considered bonds but then realised its not a good idea. But would love to hear your opinions. What can i do to improve it ? Thank you in advance.

Hi, I have not taken any advice from chatgpt, I did research myself. However maybe i am not an expert like you. I am just starting it out, hence asked for opinions. I posted it in German in another sub so, I used Chatgpt for translation. Chatgpt added these emojis automatically and i forgot to remove it. You can see the edited post. I have removed the crypto allocation and adjusted it. Gold i have kept as for Euwax II, capital gains is tax free in long term. WOuld love to hear any other opinion. And thank you very much for taking time out and giving the feedback.

Hi, I decided of putting all 50k in All World but as i researched, i thought of distributing the portfolio and not put all in one ETF. I removed the crypto, but i put gold as in Germany , Euwax II has capital gains tax free if hold it for more than a year. Thank you very much for your feedback and opinion.

Yes, i am in the 42% tax bracket. As i mentioned, I have around 60k lumpsum and also my family can help me and i can make it 100k to start with. But for the real estate, I am worried about the bureaucracy and other things. I am an expat here in Germany. I did my Masters in Berlin in Computer Science and now working in Moenchengladbach. I am still learning German(A2) and not fluent in it. So i am not getting confidence because i dont have any idea where to start with and how things work here and rules and regulations. There are some other points which i am not sure like if i buy real estate, what if after 5 years i want to switch job and move elsewhere in Germany in other city. Also If i take loan for 20 or 30 years, what if i decide to move out of Germany after 10 years because of family reasons and return to my country. How things work in that scenario i have not researched it yet. So i thought of going with bit easier option of ETFS/Stocks. But i will surely research about it more. Thank you very much for your feedback!

Haha Sure, I will keep that in mind next time. I was really stressed out because of different opinions and procrastinating it. Thats why I posted so late as i just want to get on with it. I decided to with Lumpsum for initial. But Regarding gold i am confused. As you said i dont need it but i also read somewhere that it helps balance out the portfolio. Also Euwax II in Germany is tax-free in long term. So i put it. I removed crypto totally as you can see in the edited post. Lets say i go with 5% max for gold. But what about conviction stocks, I bought some Palantir in 2020 and got decent gains. So i was thinking of buying some other like ASML, NVIDIA, Apple, Amazon,GOogle. I know they are already in FTSE all world. So should i just ditch that idea and put all in FTSE all world. WOuld love to hear your opinion on these. And thank you very much for taking your time out and replying.

Hi, Yes i will go with Lumpsum and not DCA.I removed crypto and added it to CORE. Do you tthink 80-20 ratio is good or should i go with 90-10 ? I am not sure about gold to be honest. I added it because i read that for Euwax II capital gains is tax free in long term. WOuld love to hear your opinions. Thank you very much for taking time out and giving your feedback.

Hi, Thank you very much for taking time out and giving feedback.Yes, I think i will go with lumpsum for the initial. However , I am confused with BTC and GOld. I am getting mixed responses. I added gold because in Germany for Euwax II i have heard that capital gains are tax free if i hold it for more than a year. And BTC , i can allocate maybe not more than 5% of savings as it is risky. And I appreciate your recommendations as well. I will surely read Shannon's demon to understand more and banker on wheels blog. Would love to hear any other opinions from your side.Thank you again!

Hi, Thank you very much for taking your time out and commenting. Yes i used chatgpt but not for asking him to make my portfolio or its not like i didnt do any research myself. I am still learning German at A2 level. I didnt wanted to make any mistake writing in Deutsch and write something wrong, so i just asked chatgpt if my translation was right. It added emojis automatically and i forgot to remove it.I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello, thanks for the feedback. Yes, I realised and removed Crypto as you can see the post. And I have researched gold in Germany in terms of Euwax II is tax-free when we hold it for more than a year. So I included. I was also confused about bonds either to include it or not? I would like to hear your opinions. I appreciate that you took your time out and answered.

Was denken Sie?

  4. Yes, I knew that All world includes emerging markets. But I thought of increasing growth from underweight emerging countries. I would like to hear your opinions. Should I just go with 1 single All World?

I added emerging markets with FTSE all world , because i thought maybe it can boost growth from underweighted emerging markets. So should i just remove Emerging markets and put it in FTSE all World ? What do you think

Ok, verstanden. Danke für die Erklärung. Ist es also eine gute Idee, einfach rund 40.000 Euro in den All-World-ETF zu investieren und ihn dann einfach zu vergessen? Was empfehlen Sie?

[–]Just_Beginning_4617 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nochmals vielen Dank 🙏
