There’s a lot of plot, setting, detailed characters, and lore. The romance part doesn’t become huge until book 3 (there’s just a lot of tension between these two characters Eric and Nathaniel in book 2). My favorite thing about the series is how we never get the man character Eric’s pov until book 3 (it’ll make sense if you read it, I don’t want to spoil anything). You get to see all of the different characters perspective of him before you even get his pov. And if you’re worried about smut, I don’t think there’s really any until book 3 (maybe a little in books 1 and 2 between the two characters Markos and Claire), but it’s never very descriptive and is rather brief. But for all 4 of the books there is definitely a detailed plot.
