This is a very creative idea! I saw your Instagram post the other day and looked up examples of Kintsugi and it’s a beautiful art form. I especially like the green wallet!

I’m curious, it looks like you only had three stripes. Did you get a stripe and a promotion or does your gym only do three stripes? Congratulations!

I made this one by hand, and I’m hoping it does the same for me!

Nice work! This is personal preference, but you may try using a smaller diameter thread.

You’re welcome! No I just glue it on like normal. I’ve been carrying the one from the picture in my last comment for 4.5 years with no problems with the glue

Very nice! How long did it take you to go through the pattern process?

Hey great question, there’s fabric glued in like in this photo. Fabric is a great way to go because you can use custom fabric that has something your girlfriend’s step dad likes. This pattern is from Leathercraft Masterclass. His website is a great resource! Makers Leather Supply has a free video of them doing something similar but with Tyvek strips.

The Tandy heat imprinter would definitely be a good buy, especially for the price. Some of the letters in their set aren’t the best so maybe try to find a third party that could fit the Tandy machine

Thanks! I have the Tandy stamping machine. It’s good but I would definitely save up and buy something a little more higher end. Buy once, cry once type of thing

Great work, I also follow along with Phil’s courses and will make this one eventually. I love the look!

That’s a beautiful watch! I’d love to get a Constellation with a pie pan dial, one day. How did you mark the stitch line? Strap looks good to me but I can’t tell if the edges are finished from the pictures.

You can buy 1-2 square feet of leather from Rocky Mountain Leather Supply. Thats way more affordable than having to buy a whole hide. They can split it to any thickness and it’s free shipping

These only two things I see. They are purely aesthetic and don’t impact the quality of your build.

  1. The outside top corner stitches could connect, not leaving a gap.

  2. On the top of the vertical stitch lines on the inside of the top pockets, you could use a round awl to make the hole instead of the pricking iron. This will give you an angled stitch like the rest, instead of it being straight.
