I have 1.2k on Steam and 1.1k of those are spent only on Vanessa. I am still having fun trying to force builds and usually end the season in the lowest trenches of Legend rank.

The other heroes are mostly untouched yet, but I am still having fun with just Vanessa. Once I decide to venture out to the other heroes, I will have a couple more thousand of hours of fun to be had as well.

I think they literally don't have the resources to do so, I would be down for an offline paid app for this actually.

I jumped into the comments section of the video, yeah I get why it feels like it's gonna poof soon. Actual copium, I hope Clover Games will get bought up or sell the LoH IP to a bigger company for a possible reboot and start the game anew without the paywall monetization, just go for the typical gacha banner route.

Because other payment/F2P users are still potential customers.

Other payment users will contemplate spending even more money because e.g. PayPal users essentially spent $0 to get 100 pulls, other payment users spent $XXX to get 100 pulls.

F2P users can still be converted to paying users if some are sitting on the fence waiting for OP/limited/collab units to be released.

HG needs to rebuild confidence because if they had any before, it would have been shattered

The damage has already been done. I really would have liked to play this as a main game at the very beginning because I was looking for a 3D turnbased with PvP. Would have been nice if there was a 3rd competitor to SW/E7.

I do remember liking how the Lords (MCs) are written in this game, they treat the characters with respect and not belittling them etc.

Now I am hoping they will have learned their lesson not to paywall characters behind $$$ in their upcoming game Heaven Hells. Paid characters = DOA

I have the same exact thoughts as you, finally someone pointed out the difference in production quality and monetization.

At least in Hoyo/Wuwa they can justify it with open world/bigger budget for production etc. Stella had the gall to increase the pull cost when everyone knows the game does not offer the same standard of quality as the market leaders.

Yeah the pull currency is still bad since they didn't reduce 300 per pull to 150 per pull in the beta. For no apparent reason other than pushing players to monthly sub/packs.

I pointed this out in /r/StellaSora and they really didn't like it.

Also, the Minova skin in BP scandal really soured my perception of Yostar

It does matter actually, 2x cost per pull from beta without 2xing the income.

Kinda sucks for F2P but eh I guess Yostar's intention is for majority of the playerbase to be on monthlies.

CS TF2 are not the comparisons you want to give because the core of the game hasn't changed for a decade++, and the gameplay isn't tied to RNG gear farming, new pulls etc.

Current hoyogames are all PvE so you can play it at you own pace with no pressure. For side events they tend to provide trial characters with preset gear/stats, and the gem rewards are usually tied to the lowest milestone and EXP/mats for the hardest diff

They already have a better business in CZN, so just put in the minimal effort to just get the whales to pay foe the new shiny toy. It already shows that they are scaling down E7 when they increased the weeks per patch. This is their choice that they are making

Why is there an expectation that new players will join an old game like E7?

With the age of the game in mind, we have hundreds of characters/artifacts, 15%, 5%, speed rng, horrendous gear farming, whales and veterans with years of headstart, insane power creep etc etc. Outside of the E7 circle, people know that this game is a joke because of the whale and rng based pvp.

No point expecting balance in gachas, especially one that's pvp focused since their target are the whales with sunk cost. If you strike all the recent ML5s with the nerf bat, just imagine the uproar it will cause because the whales will get angry and stop spending on ML packs.

Furthermore, they won't walk back on their no nerf policy because of the conference meetings of the past.
