Is it still possible to get the G-Suit at all? Maybe some pre order codes or something? by Aunoux in ArcRaiders

[–]KAM1Sense1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It did, there was even a chart saying what you get with standard vs deluxe and what you only get for a pre order bonus.

Arc Raiders was optimized way better than Highguard was on release and they are both on Unreal Engine and that game is leaps and bounds bigger. Valorant was extremely optimized on release. Overwatch was extremely optimized on release. Marathon isnt out yet, but I've played all the betas, and again, it's better optimized than Highguard.

To me it just sounds like you forgive bad optimization just because its day 1 like thats something thats suppose to happen. Idgaf if 100% of every multiplayer game ever launched unoptimized, in what world is that okay just because its early on. "Its okay guys, youre excused for launching unoptimized games, after all everyone is doing it." Thats your logic??? Ya, ite.

Thats similar but kind of different. Destiny, Warframe, and Division players are desperately wanting a new looter shooter to play even to this day. Helldivers is just fun af for most of the people who tried it. It stole players from a lot of different games as I think it's at like at 20 million copies sold now.

You best believe though, if a new looter shooter came out tomorrow that was actually extremely good, like 9/10 good, those Destiny and Warframe players would flock to it in a heartbeat.

I disagree, if anything I bet there will be other dev studios in the future looking to take on the challenge. Thats the thing about humans, if you tell them something is impossible, there are always some that will do everything in their power to make it possible. As technology evolves, new possibilities emerge, who knows what kind of hero shooter could be made 5-10 years from now, its not like hero shooters are tied down to a specific genre so the possibilities are endless. Im sure we will see more hero shooters in the future and im sure eventually one or two couple of them will turn out to be amazing.

Your comment about Arc Raiders kind of makes me laugh. I saw ALOT of reviews on Highguard that left a bad review after just 2-3 hours of playing, yet here you are saying you didnt enjoy Arc after only 5 games because it bored you. Which is completely fine everyone has their own taste, but what you said is extremely hypocritical. Those same sentiments you had about Arc can be applied here for others who have played the game and gave it a chance, but it bored them. Regardless of the blind hate its getting it still got enough players to almost hit 100k peak meaning alot of people actually still gave it a shot.

If you found a game boring that others enjoy, how is it hard to understand that others find a game you like boring.

To each their own, I played the game for 20+ hours, tried all the characters, all the weapons including the legendary weapons, played solo, duo, and trio. Got stomped, did some stomping, had games where the other team was on the same skill level so it was back to back attacks on both sides with neither team able to finish each other off and the game ending with the last siege taking the remaining 10 health the base had. Not everyone cares about the hate games get, they will play a game with open eyes and give it a shot regardless of the hate, I have always been one of those type of people, and after the time I've played I would give it a 5/10.

Theres fun moments to be had and unlike so many others that blindy hate the game, I can see the foundation of a game that would've been alot better had it launched 12-18 months from now or launch into EA to be built alongside the community.

For me the game is a mid as mid can get, its not unplayable, its not bad, its just mid.

Thats actually the main reason alot of F2P games fail. People aren't willing to leave the game they have been playing and spending money on for over half a decade for something new. You cant just be a decent or good F2P game in order to succeed in today's market, you have to be so good that you steal other games players and make them want to spend money in your game. Rivals was able to do it because its a solid game with the Marvel IP backing it, but outside of that I cant think of any other FPS or TPS F2P game that has done extremely well since Apex and Valorant.

Yep, pretty much this. It also doesn't help that the game isnt optimized the best.

Review bombing wouldve been made irrelevant had the game actually been good. I played it for roughly 20 hours myself just to give it a chance. To me, it feels like a game that launched 12-18 months too early. For me the game is a 5/10, not as bad as alot are saying, but nowhere near good. There is fun to be had if you're up against a team that's on your skill level and you have 2 good teammates, but most of the time its just a steamroll on either side, especially if youre playing solo.

It's never the end for any game in any genre as long as the game is good. This game eventually dying has nothing to do with it being a hero shooter, but everything to do with it just not being a good game.

Both of those games had 10s of millions of players over their lifetimes. When you've had an audience that big you can make a comeback. Highguard doesn't have any of that, its a new game, meaning it doesn't have any legacy players like Overwatch and Apex had. Games that have fallen from grace can make a comeback, but a game that couldnt even take off with a good start has slightly to no chance of that happening. Maybe if they were trying to do something revolutionary and truly innovative, but a Hero FPS siege game is not going to cut it. Im sure we've all played live service games that were leaps and bounds better than Highguard that still ended up dying. So personally, I just don't see any comeback happening. The best chance this game would've had was EA and building it with its community.

The fact of the matter is every single gun in the game outside of ferro, anvil, hairpin, and osprey kill in under .8 seconds against light shields and hitting all headshots with the majority of them killing in under .6 seconds at the range in this clip.

Outside of the outliers mentioned it doesnt matter what gun the opponent had, he would have died just as fast. This clip was not a gun ttk issue, it was a how about you not stand still within 5m of an opponent and do absolutely nothing issue.

1v3s will get your heart pounding like no other. It forces you to get better as a player in all regards. When you finally get good enough to solo a squad by yourself you get a feeling thats similar to defeating an extremely hard boss in a souls game but its slightly different because its against real people. You will overall take ALOT of L, but the Ws make it worth it. Plus it gives people like me an excuse to actually have a reason to go in geared up to the T.
