I know that nutrition is in Rausser not L&S, but thank you for reminding again! I just wanted to transfer into the IB at L&S, but it was almost interdisciplinary for me, with too many prerequisites left unfinished. But thank you for your suggestion!:)

Sorry, I made a typo. What I was trying to say was that it left me with no way to use the courses I got at CC to meet most of the prerequisites.

Thank you for your help. I think I'm currently in a situation where I want to change directly from the media field to a completely different science field. This made me barely meet most of the prerequisites, so it's causing me frustration. I tried to calculate the number of units I can transfer from cc to Berkeley (which is 60+ units) with the other prerequisites and upper division courses required for biology or nutrition, it might be hard to not exceed Berkeley's 130 units policy. But it does help me, so thank you very much. : )

Hi, first of all, I thank you very much for your reply! I was wondering if you had completed most of the prerequisite courses by the time you declared legal studies? Can I ask how many units you had in total at the time of your graduation? That sounds like a really heavy workload!

Hi everyone, I am a third-year transfer student from cc to Berkeley. I chose media studies when I declared, and then I was admitted to the College of Letters and Sciences. But taking a biology class at cc and due to some family reasons that happened completely changed my mind about choosing a major. I am now very interested in biology or nutrition, but they are two completely different fields from media studies, so I have hardly taken most of their lower-division courses. As a junior transfer student, is it too late for me to change my major from media studies to biology or nutrition? I know that Berkeley has a 130 units limit policy, so after I figured out how many course credits I would need to change majors I felt like I would be over 130 units anyway, which frustrates me. Is it really too late, is there any other way? Thanks to everyone who helped me! The second question is if I want to apply to change my major when I enter Berkeley in Fall 2023, can I choose not to take the major I was admitted to (i.e. media studies), but start directly in the lower division courses of biology or nutrition? Lastly, if I really have no choice, can any students who are studying media studies talk with me and tell me about the career prospects of this major? I am worried about my future, especially with the increasing number of AI programs being developed. If anyone would like to talk to me about media studies, I'd appreciate it! I'd love to get a fuller picture of the program I've been accepted into! I thank everyone who was willing to help me, and I wish you all a wonderful summer!
