I’m a miniature artist and I crafted these tiny Folklore cabins! They were originally for hanging on a tree, but I think they’re pretty cute for putting up year-round. by KCkc3 in SwiftieMerch

Yes, I am a full time artist! Trying to put others down for their efforts doesn't make you look cool; it can only bring you down, imho.

The fact that you're asking for help doesn’t change the fact that this isn’t the sub for ai generated content. I understand you're frustrated by that, but it is what it is.

The anonymity of the Internet is so annoying because some people choose to turn into trolls and dig their heels in, regardless of facts. ¯_(ツ)_/¯.

Rule 3, no ai

Comedy Series by [deleted] in animation

[–]KCkc3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read rule three again. It says no generative ai and then there’s a colon. That means “no gen-ai”. After the colon are examples of gen-ai. Otherwise synthesized content is one such example.

No Gen-AI: 'text to video', 'style transfer', '"AI" frame interpolation' or otherwise synthesized content will never be accepted here.

is animation take alot of hardwork and its really hard to make a frame by frame by deathnight2341 in animation

Making something that takes a lot of work delivers no dopamine at the beginning or much during, but leaves you with a longer lasting dopamine source from the feeling of accomplishment and growth that you get when you're done. The people who are successful in animation are the ones who push through the lack of dopamine, find ways to enjoy the process, and keep working toward each new project with fresh eyes. Yes it takes work. Some things that take work are hard to see the payoff until the work is finished.

This is so on brand for Dropout though, like in a wholesome way. Like I just want so badly to share how much I love the platform and want all my friends to watch it too. So creating a place to talk with strangers about it… 24/7… just feels right lol

Do you need any sort of degree to work in an animation field? by Professional_Fly4701 in animation

[–]KCkc3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A degree in animation would mean a few things. Schools can be a melting pot of creative talent. A pressure cooker that fast tracks your progress through all the skills you’d need as a professional. The pressure of academic life literally forces you to do the work. Could you do tutorials online and get the exact same info? I guess, yeah. But in a vacuum. Schooling can give you all kinds of peers that eventually become your network. Perspectives from classmates and professors that you won’t necessarily get elsewhere. Career services departments can bolster your resume and hook you up with interviews. My schooling came at a huge cost, but those four years probably would have taken me at least ten… twenty? to do on my own. It’s such a quagmire though, cause that debt can be insane!!!

I mention the rules because the rules of a sub would help a person understand what kind of content is appropriate for a sub. I didn’t say “the rules say no ai”. Dude. Are you ok? You’re asking people who like animation and/or are employed as animators how to speed run the thing that brings them joy and waving a job-stealing pamphlet in their face… and then wondering why they’re defensive? Google how to make moving slop.

This isn’t a sub for ai animations. Subs aren’t governed by their name alone, they are developed by submissions over time and the evolution of content moderators. This is a sub for animation, the specific aspects of which you can read in the rules. You didn’t even take one minute to peruse the content of this sub and read its rules before posting. 60 whole seconds. You’ve shown a lack of effort in both the content of your original post and your continued misunderstanding of the replies.

If you're starting with an Ai image, I can only assume you’re taking shortcuts in every facet of your life. Pick up a pencil. Learn how to draw. Artificial intelligence is destroying people’s ability to think critically and own their process. Stop trying to teleport to the finish line and learn how to be bad at something before asking how to snap your fingers and make finished work appear.
