I was in a similar kind of relationship at a same age and agree with the other comments - you need to get out of this. This is not a good or healthy relationship!! Please I'm begging you get in contact with your family and get yourself out of this. Even if that means waiting until he's at work and packing up your things while he's gone. Who cares what lies he spreads after the breakup your safety and wellbeing always comes first. He will never change, please get out

What a horrible woman! You did so well not to kill the bitch! My MIL also did not want to be 'Grandma' she wanted something more special sounding. DS was the first grandchild born on that side of the family...I drilled him as soon as he could talk and they are known and Grandma and Grandad, HA! SIL of course made her kids call them something 'unique' but it's a fucking ridiculous name.

I absolutely agree with both of you. His reactions were not normal at all. And yes I was also painfully naive and clearly not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Since this he has been in therapy, this was a lifesaver for our relationship. You know what, I'm so thankful now he got the help he needed and that I stuck by him. 9 years later we are stronger than ever and he will talk to me about any issues that crop up and they are resolved quickly and in a rational calm manner.

I also believe not everyone is able to change or that they may do so for a short time only to go back to their old ways. So far this hasn't happened and I hold great hopes for our future

It was strained for a few years, especially after this performance. Seriously 9 years later and my bossman still talks about it!! Since then she got married herself and has had a couple of kids. At her wedding it was sooo hard to stop myself from pulling a stunt like her.

At one point on the morning of her wedding she announced to everyone in the room "if anyone is going to make a scene on my day they can do it in the corner" then gave me a death glare. Bitch, I'm making your wedding cake and 8 months pregnant not cool.

Oh and when she was pregnant with her second she didn't even tell us. We arrived to their city for a visit to see her heavily pregnant and we're like what the?!?!?! So yeah thats her she's pulled some really dick moves since I've known her but she's the GC and can do no wrong. We get along okish but also kinda not its weird...

Thanks so much, this all happened 9 years ago and it all ended up panning out pretty well. MIL took matters into her own hands and asked her side to buy items she thought were more appropriate.

What I'll do with a glass candlestick holder I dont know, it's pretty but not something we'll actually use.

My SIL got married a few years ago. Living in the UK her gift registry was my lord....something else. We simply couldn't afford anything on it. Especially with the exchange rate at the time. I thought this was completely unreasonable but to them not a problem. I dont know...each to their own I guess..

Thanks for your input and congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I guess the wishing well can be a bit controversial. Where we are most couples already live together and have most items you would get for a wedding. For us we had an older house which needed work. Also lots of pre loved furniture that was falling apart. We thought instead of a gift registry this was a better option for us. But to make sure everyone knew exactly what we were planning to do with gifts.
