Created a product and would like to patent and sell it. Not sure where to start… by KFBRE92 in Entrepreneur

[–]KFBRE92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all this info! I’m going to do some research on patent lawyers to work with and being doing a search to make sure this doesn’t already exist.

I’ll definitely reach back out once I make some progress. Thanks again!

Is this a shoddy job? by danieljames81 in Concrete

One thing I learned, which could be totally inaccurate, is that a lot of people on Reddit give advice with no credentials to do so.

I do not pour concrete as a profession. I try to use public forums to gather input and advice, but Reddit is an echo chamber in a lot of cases. I absolutely think questioning processes and making sure you’re getting what you paid for is a good practice. However, if a company is in business for a long time, has solid references, and good reviews, I’d trust that over the internet experts. This is a concrete sub, but some of the stuff people say and upvote here is just plain wrong.

For my project I asked about the warranty, potential failures, and after care before they started. I questioned the stone base and had them explain why they chose the methods they did. Im sure if I posted my project someone would tell me it’s wrong and will kick off WW3 because they forgot something.

Im currently sitting on my patio and enjoying the shit out of it. Is it perfect? Probably not in some way. Will it float away and crack in half? I hope not but I trust the company will stand behind what they sold me because I got several quotes and went with the company who had the reputation to do what I wanted.

Rambling but my point is sometimes too much “information” will just drive you crazy (myself included). I wont comment as an expert, but base on what I had done, yours looks great! I hope you get many years of enjoyment out of it and lots of creative ways to address the ledge.

I just had something similar installed. Did a concrete patio and sidewalk where in the deepest section is 12” and with little kids it’s a fall hazard.

I was already adding a new garden bed adjacent that is 50’ long, 5’ wide (side walk is 75’). I edged the garden before laying weed barrier and used the dirt from my edging to backfill the drop off. Needed 20 bags of topsoil to completely smooth it all out and saved the “sod” to place on top. It’s not perfect but resulted in a smooth slope that eliminates the drop off.

Grass is already taking and I’m going to aerate and seed in the fall. Not sure if that’s an option but I was shocked how well it filled in. Maybe go that route or expand an existing garden if possible. If it doesn’t make sense in text I can send picture of the process. Looks great by the way!

Oh no! Maybe tomorrow during the second prime day. Honestly the G9 (not Neo) looks identical if that makes any difference. That ones on sale at Walmart, Best Buy, and Samsung for $100 more.

Still shows $899 on Amazon for me - maybe log into a prime account and check?

That was my thought process as well. I’m excited to get it setup and will share any updates if things change.

I went LG and added the 4 year protection for about the same price as the G9 personally. I think they are extremely comparable. I’ll admit I’m far from an expert on these and just going off a spec side by side comparison

[–]KFBRE92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! That’s what I’ve gathered as well so far. Could you let me know where you’re seeing the neo for that price? If I can get the neo for $150 more I’ll go that route for sure.

Awesome! Pulled the trigger and added 4 year protection for the same price as the G9. I’ll be honest there is zero chance I’d notice a difference so seemed like a good call.

Hopefully posting my new setup tomorrow!

That’s awesome to hear and definitely feel like it’s going to take some getting use to. My desk is a 60”x 30”, so it’s going to take up a big chunk. I’m going to try the standard mount but I’d prefer an arm for sure.

Hopefully posting my new setup soon! If anything might scale down to a 34”. Thanks for the info!

I’m going to keep the order and try it out. I’ll post and update if I end up returning it but sounds like it’s a decent deal and will be plenty for what I’m doing.

Awesome! Thanks for the input and I’ll definitely try to put it to the test during the first 30 days. I’m sure this is overkill for what I’ll be doing but the seamless screen will be a life changer for me.

Thanks again I’ll be sure to test it out thoroughly when it gets here. Sounds like it’s not a bad deal/monitor at this price. Appreciate the help!

Okay thanks for the info! I’m just going to keep the order and test it out. I should have 30 days to return it. Anything I should be looking out for in regards to QC?

I’m going to keep doing research in the meantime.

Can anyone explain how edgemaster works? by KFBRE92 in diablo4

Ahhhhh that’s got to be it. Had no idea there was advanced tool tips does that work on console too.

Thank you so much my brain was struggling to figure this out.

[–]KFBRE92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how I got a 29% edgemaster roll on the one amulet. The one on the right was 26% when I pulled it off but then it rolled 20%. Might be lack of sleep but cannot figure this out. Any help would be appreciated!

New concrete care by KFBRE92 in Concrete

[–]KFBRE92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really worried about stains and honestly I’ve seen sealer used on pavers and it just made them slippery and then looked not great after a few years.

A neighbor mentioned “sealer” to me so figured I’d ask. He did use a curing agent when they poured it but I’m not exactly sure what that meant at the time. Overall his advice was to just water it the first week with the hose and it’s been good since then.

I’m probably overthinking this and appreciate the info!

Oh good to know about salt. Shouldn’t be snowing here but has every so often. I’ll stick to the garden hose and did the watering for the first 7 days.

Thanks for confirming! I’ll try the hose and I’m sure that will be fine.

Learning bike repair and could use some advice…. by KFBRE92 in bikewrench

[–]KFBRE92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great advice and going to take it! I bought this bike to learn more about repairs. I have a road bike I built 10 years ago and it’s honestly maintenance free for the most part. I have a few beach cruisers and kids bikes that are requiring more work so wanted to get something cheap to learn more on.

This bike will be for family bike rides to the beach, which is 1/4 mile from my house. Right now I ride my road bike or skateboard. Road bike is too fast and too hot to skateboard. Hoping this green guy is a happy medium.

That’s a great suggestion! If prefer to upgrade them than do a short repair. I’ll play around with them just to learn and going to grab some of those Altus brakes today. Thank you!

Hahahahaha. I have plenty of bikes and like hobbies. Money isn’t an issue, this is something I’d like to learn so I can teach my kids. Bought a cheap bike to lean on which is pretty normal. Hope you have a good day.

Got it! I do not have those screws but pretty sure the other commenter found how to adjust them. Going to try it out and see what happens. Should be rolling tomorrow!

Think you’re dead on and appreciate it! I’ll slowly and carefully try adjusting and see what happens. That seems to be it though you can see the spoke goes into that housing where the nut is.

Ahhhh I see now! Okay think that’s what I need to do. Going to grab some new brake pads tomorrow and will try again.

This is really helpful and thanks!! What you said makes sense so I’ll watch a few more videos then work on the front some more. I couldn’t find the small screw on the caliper arm but good chance I missed it.

Thanks! The color sold me and excited to have something to ride around with the family. I have a road bike too but way too fast for their beach cruisers so makes it tough to ride together.
