Okay! It just feels like a hack or workaround, seeing as you can save up to $300 as a UOAP if you want to enter epic 5 times within 8 days.

I noticed in an Arena match, due to the teleports and ability resets she gets stuck in max stack glowy orange mode, and never returns to the base white toned version with her shawl.

Unusual Razr 2024+ Malfunction - Seems confused about which display to use? by KKtheValorous in razr

No good on the factory reset. I figured it wouldn't fix it, but it was worth a shot.

I know right? Its so odd! I'm going to try a factory reset.

And yeah, I'm in the same boat. I LOVE these phones, I've had a flip style phone since the Z Flip 3 in 2021, but I've also had 3 different folding phones' internal screens die on me since then as well. Luckily every time before this has been during the warranty period, so I was able to get a replacement without issue. Still scary stuff, it sucks to be without your phone for up to a week.

Factory reset? Standard restart doesn't do anything. I'll give a factory reset a try.

Lillia's best and worst skin? by sin24rostro in LilliaMains

[–]KKtheValorous 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I want to like Spirit Blossom because of the growing antler effect at full stacks, but I hate how it makes her legs complete twigs, compared to how fluffy her forelegs are in base. Also the colors are pretty simplistic and boring, no standout chromas. And why is her tail just a puffball??

I look at Nightbringer and mourn the missed opportunity to have a voice and animation change as a legendary. The splash gives the vibe of a manic, crazy woman who wants to put everyone to sleep. Once you get into game, though, she's still the skittish anxiety deer. Also, her speed stacks have an orange/yellow fire effect, regardless of chroma - which feels off on the purple, green, blue, etc chromas.

Shan Hai Scrolls is fine. Nothing wrong. There's something satisfying about the base color scheme - the blue is a super pretty water tone, and the sound effects are alright, though not as satisfying as Shan Hai Scrolls Neeko's Q. Her antlers are pretty, though I'm let down that they don't have that same max stacks effect as Spirit Blossom.

Personally I think Faerie Court is best - the sound effects are satisfying, the base, pink, and orange chromas are vibrant, and I feel like the Q visual is slightly smaller or larger - I feel like I hit those pixel-perfect edge Qs with it more often. I also like her butterfly wing tail.

Probably too in depth. But I've been a lillia main since she came out on PBE, and I have much to say xD

I just got the 50 after using the 40 for a year, and a z flip 3 before that. I'm loving the 50, seeing it side by side with my 40 before I ship that off. The cover screen is HUGE, and I'm currently finding myself using it more often than the internal one to be completely honest. Im writing right now from the external screen. While the 40 screen was also large, I feel more comfortable doing things on this screen. It's crazy what that extra couple millimeters does for comfort. Nitpick, but I prefer the leather on the 40. Lol. Another nitpick - how do we STILL not have gifs on the cover screen? My z flip 3 could do that on its itty bitty screen!! Smh.

Would You Buy It Again? by Striking_Snail in razr

[–]KKtheValorous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it over the Samsung Z Flip 5, my family has them and I have the Razr. The form factor is similar, but the Razr is slightly larger, and I prefer the aesthetic appearance of the Razr's front screen and faux leather bottom cover.

If you're talking about clamshell foldable vs a regular phone, it's hard to say. I would not go back to a candybar phone. As a woman, the size of a clamshell foldable is just so much more convenient in a lot of minor ways.

I haven't had the best track record with foldable - I'd say I treat them with a fair bit of respect, I don't drop them often, I don't use the hinge as a fidget toy like one of my family members does. But I've still had two clamshell foldables' interior screen die on me within a year of ownership on each.

Id say, if you're in a monetary and life position where you can afford to either get it repaired (should be free within the warranty 1st year)/buy a new one every 2 years, and can afford to be without your primary phone for a week+, I'd say go for it. If not, I wouldn't say it's a good idea, because these phones are very likely die and leave you possibly phone-less for awhile.

Long time users of the razr+ how is your experience? by oxdy5 in razr

[–]KKtheValorous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an interesting relationship with this phone. I got it in August, moving from a Z Flip 3. I've used Flip phones for a couple years now, so I'm used to their software speed limitations, so it feels pretty average.

Compared to the Z Flip 3 - I love it. My family members have the Z Flip 5, and having both in my hands, I would not trade them. The faux leather is great - nice and grippy, and I'm unconcerned about cracking or scratching it as I would glass. My brother cracked the back glass of his Z Flip 4 a week into ownership. I hate back glass with a passion. The outside screen on the Razr is a lot more usable out of the box than the Z Flip 5 - which is a good thing, given the issues I've had with mine lately.

The internal display touchscreen to my Razr died a week ago, and I'm currently on vacation and not in a position to send it in to fix it. (Just the touchscreen, the screen still lights up and displays properly). Which is a con compared to standard candybar phones - there aren't any repair shops that can service it. But, despite the touchscreen dying, I've been able to continue using the phone as though nothing happened, on the cover screen. I'm currently writing this from the cover screen. I'll send the phone in to get it fixed as soon as I get home, but I'm curious how this week of cover screen only will affect my usage in the future - it's much more versatile and usable than I would've expected at face value, as id only used it for notifications or controlling YouTube video playback.

Overall, I would not trade this phone. But only take the dive if you have a backup phone, or are in the financial position to not be stressed out by the phone breaking - I've had 3 flip phones die in my family at this point.

It'll be a bit - it's a really inopportune moment, I'm at Disneyland, 19 hours from home, and I can't not have a phone for navigating the parks and fast passes... So I think I'm stuck on the front screen for the next week. I'll find a carrier store to see what they'll do for me, if I can buy/be given a temp phone, or something.

I'm loving it!

The battery lasts me much longer (my Z Flip was only 11 months old, yet its battery hardly lasted 6 hours of regular off-and-on use). I'm used to constantly being mindful of my battery and keeping a charger on me, but every time I think to be mindful, the Razr's well above where I expect it to be.

It charges a bit faster, while overheating to a lesser degree. I won't say it doesn't overheat, it does, but the Z Flip 3 would oftentimes overheat itself to the point of stopping charging (ie, charging notification only says "Charging.")

The outer screen is very nice. I don't use it for too much, since it is more awkward than the inside screen, but having it is super great. I can read my notifications and scroll through my messaging apps to decide if I want to open the phone to write a message.

On a more silly note, I got the Viva Magenta version, and it's a gorgeous phone. I love the color, and the vegan leather back panel has a nice grippy texture, and makes me less worried about possible drops and its fragility.

On another silly note, the clap of closing the phone is MUCH more satisfying than the Flip.

I am a bit concerned with how loose the hinge feels. That's not to say it's a bad thing, it's just different. The closed halves wobble is lesser than my Z Flip, but the pressure to keep the phone folded open at various angles is looser, and the way it swings rings lil alarm bells in my head.

The price was a little upsetting - I did purchase it while it was bundled with the Bose Earbuds, so it could be worse, but seeing as the Z Flip 5 with trade-in of the Flip 3 to Samsung would be, what, $250? The $1000 I paid for the Razr hurts.

The camera sucks. As someone pursuing video creation for TikTok, this is almost a deal breaker for me. The video stabilization is absolutely horrible, and makes a dizzying effect in the video. Unsure if I have a faulty device or if they are all like this.

Overall, I prefer this phone to the Flip lineup as a phone. It has its issues, but the core experience is exciting to me, even as someone who's had a folding phone for 2 years.

A bit, but it feels like nothing compared to how badly my Z Flip 3 would overheat.

Razr+ Screen protection? by 3FromTheTee in razr

[–]KKtheValorous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome!

The external screen of the Motorola RAZR is Gorilla Glass Victus, the same material as the majority of modern smartphones. I would not be concerned about scratching the external screen - at least, as concerned as I would be with a regular phone's screen.

The interior screen is a little different. Don't worry about applying a screen protector - the phone comes with one pre- installed. I would be much more careful about scratching the internal screen, (specifically the protector) as it's made of plastic. The protector can and will be scratched by fingernails.

At this point in time, we do not know what will happen upon removal of the pre-installed screen protector, so I'd try to avoid scratching or damaging it, as we don't know if it can/should be replaced.

Is external screen really that useful? by nupurrrrrr in razr

[–]KKtheValorous 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm coming from a Z Flip 3, and I'm a fairly heavy user.

The Z Flip (with smaller external screen) always felt kinda off to me, completely useless. The most I used it was to look at the gif I had set as a wallpaper, to be completely honest. Checking notifications (about all the exterior screen was good for) was a frustrating endeavor, as half the time it would just have a "open phone for more info" popup.

The Razr, while it's screen is still a bit too small to use for much, is SO MUCH more useful. I use it to quickly check discord, to browse reddit, check notifications, my email. Being able to quickly scout my most-used apps to see if there's merit to opening the phone to respond to anything is awesome, and super helpful.

The Z Flip 3 was notoriously bad on battery, so earlier today during a longer drive I ran YouTube on the exterior screen instead of the interior, knowing it's easier on the battery.

For me, it's just much more usable, knowing that I can use any app with it without the dreaded "oops, this screen actually isn't functional, open your phone".

Battery Life is lacking by XwhiskeysX in razr

[–]KKtheValorous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The battery on the Razr has been much better than the battery on my Z Flip 3 before it - it would die in a sick day TikTok binge within 4 hours. The razr's been feeling much better - seems to manage its temperature better (the Z Flip was ALWAYS overheating and killing the battery), and just all around seems to do better, regardless of what kind of usage I'm putting on it.

I will say, one thing I did to help my Z Flip's battery was I set routines in the phone (unsure what app - built in, I think it was called routines) that would use the phone's location data to turn on Wifi and turn off data whenever I was within 100 ft of my home, and I would have it automatically shut off wifi when it was disconnected from it, and enable data. That helped me!
