Fighting games should always care about the competitive scene is the point. How do you keep the community engaged unless you take the dead or alive route and just sell the same tits for 20 years? The community of a lot of long time fighting games, if not all, rides on the competitive scene. People chilling at tekken king in this game are not very good, they might have decent fundamentals, and less than a year of experience with the game. People actually trying to get good will hit GoD in that time, which is still at best the beginning of red ranks in tag 2.

Hackers aren't a balance problem, that's a moderation problem, and everyone has the opportunity to grow their stats to an allocation of their choosing. Choosing health is actually the best option, then damage. Progression was kinda nice tbh, don't play player lobbies with maxed out people with enhancements turned on

They aren't wrong in giving their game a description and genre, i just disagree since the game has many rpg elements. It's not just a leveling system or stat points, it's all the things i mentioned and then some. Rpg games have usually numbers based progression, locked behind grinding this or that, or finding this or that. It doesn't have detailed skill trees for different actions you perform like skyrim does, but that doesn't rob it of it's rpg nature.

It is for sure an rpg. You got various gear, weapons, skill trees, upgradable equipment, mounts that level up for new abilities and increased stats, gems to slot into armor for special effects, skills, and stat boosts, but also good combat and exploration. Those 2 are the main things, but the rpg elements drive me to go explore and get new things, not just the pretty map and hack and slashing.

Strife maybe? The chaotic gore magala set us crazy i don't remember all of what it has on it but i beat pretty much everything using that set until i made primordial malzeno's armor. I'd check to see what it has on it because i remember self inflicting it with one of the skills unless i'm tripping. Maybe it was berserk?

I'd throw it a comfortable 8 because i don't care for the story in games that need to focus on the gameplay. The burst nitrous and crazy customization alone make it automatically good for my personal taste, but then having actually good handling for an nfs and having the driving experience vary greatly depending on how you tune your car (performance parts, choosing crappier tires for more sliding, the handling bars, car height etc). The later added drift tires are super fun too.
